Terrific model of a less popular prehistoric carnivore
Pricey but there are no other options for this particular creature. The figure is well made and fits right in with your better animal model brands (Schleich, Safari Ltd etc). My two year old is enamored with it.

I struck out with the first two and really didn't want to get him just the smilodon (like most ASD kids he's big on accuracy) so
My 6yr old son is obsessed with all things prehistoric, having recently expanded that interest from dinosaurs to everything now long extinct. After watching a National Geographic special (Prehistoric Predators--3pt seres) he demanded toy figures of the animals he'd seen (dire wolf, short-faced bear, smilodon & hyaenodon, among others). I struck out with the first two and really didn't want to get him just the smilodon (like most ASD kids he's big on accuracy) so I was delighted when i found this! He absolutely loves it. The hyaenodon and smilodon fight for food all the time, though he often tells me "Mom, there weren't these kinds of prey animals and deer back then, but until you find me some I'll just pretend that they are... but don't take too long." LoL

My little one LOVED that his favorite animal came in a figure. I never thought I'd find this! Would buy it over and over (but don't think I'll have to - it's sturdy). Don't hesitate...BUY!!

This animal is so cool because it wasn’t related to hyenas like the name suggest instead it was part of a group of carnivore mammals called primitive carnivores I encourage everyone who likes prehistoric animals to get the side and when you get the money

I got this figurine for Christmas.Let me say I don't rate products 5 stars unless their flawless. And this hyaenodon is perfection!
