Q: Above it states: "heat 5 gallons of water in few minutes, depending on the volume of the water." Isn't the volume 5 gallons? So does it or doesn't it?

I have found that it heats 5 gallons in about 20 minutes or so. It does depend on how cold the water is to start.

Q: I tried to get in hot tub with this unit plugged in. as soon as i put my foot in the water i felt a shock and the breaker blew. is this normal?

Don't even think about getting in this piece of junk. It's like throwing a plugged in radio to your hot tub. Your lucky your breaker tripped or you'd be a former Gesale

We use it in a small bapistry and it works great. Keep in mind with that much water it takes a couple of hours to get hot.
