Pass this book, and hobby, on to the next generation!
David Dickenson has compiled so much more than the reminisces of a bygone era. The stories collected here are so much more than the whisperings of ghosts longing for the good old days. They are the history, indeed the heart and soul of a hobby, a vocation, a lifestyle that is dying far too quickly. These simple tales of our love affair with internal combustion ans sheet metal have the ability to spark younger minds and inspire them to look beyond today's soul-less computerized point and click rolling boxes and see true beauty of old cars. I suggest not only purchasing one for yourself, but also perhaps one (or several!) to donate to the local vocational schools. If you've got really young kids or grand-kids, treat this as a bedtime story book. Couple that with taking kids to car shows, and letting them get their hands dirty beside you, and the future will be brighter than ever!

Brought Back Good Memories
I really enjoyed this book as it brought back memories of my own old car days. Even though most of the events in the book occurred on the other side of the country from where I live, I recognized many of the "characters" from my own neighborhood. We experienced many of the same things with our own hot rods and other old Chevy's. I have moved on to other types of "old iron" now but I look forward to a second edition of the "Old Car Nut" book real soon.

Entertaining and Anecdotal
This compendium of car tales is often entertaining and nostalgic. If you are a self-described "car nut," there is much here to enjoy. Taken on its own terms, it can provide a refreshing ride down memory lane, but if you are looking for a cohesive narrative or even a strong theme beyond "cars," you are barking up the wrong tree. It is an anthology of personal anecdotes, some far more interesting than others, all relating, in one way or another to nostalgic views of "old" cars (we are not talking classics here; in general what is meant is simply "cars from our youth").

Great Read
One of the few books in this time that capture the real spirit of hot rodding. A must read for all gear heads.

Top Read
Great stories for the committed fan and plenty for the new chum or the general reader as well. Keeping the chapters comparatively brief but to the point helps too and some of the stories truly heartwarming. Inevitably on a simple theme there is repetition in terms of events but I found this a great read
