Great Budget Pencil
First, the cons.: My white pencil came bent; the rest of the pencils were okay. They were not cushioned in the shipping box but so far, I haven't come across damage. These are not necessarily a "quick" pencil to color with. They work best when multiple light layers are used to build up color before burnishing. Burnishing can be an issue for those with arthritis.Pros: For the number of pencils you get, it's a fantastic price. They have great layering and blending qualities, but you need to have patience because multiple light layers are what create fantastic pigment appearance. They have a great selection of colors that are useful for portraits, landscapes, seascapes, etc. They work great with solvent. They are good for anyone who has a heavy hand since the cores are hard. For me, the crayola pencils worked best and appear vibrant on regular bristol vellum. I use a 67lb bristol vellum (147 gsm) and the tooth of the paper really allows the pencil to grip the paper and lay down pigment. They are less vibrant and rather splotchy and uneven on smooth paper, but that could be due to my heavy hand. I have not tried them in children's coloring books, but in some adult coloring books they work great, and others...not so much. It all depends on the paper that is used.I use the crayolas to practice new coloring techniques, shading and shadow, sketching, and producing thumbnails of anything large-scale that I plan on coloring and painting. I love both burnishing after a lot of light layers, and, I like using them with solvent when I want the painterly effect and don't want to spend the time to burnish.Overall, this was worth the price and I would buy them again.

Crayola box doesn't come sealed!
Works well, good quality, but box was not sealed in any way and crayons had come loose inside the Amazon package (recyclable paper envelope, no padding). Comes presharpened, but a few of the tips broke because they had come out of the Crayola box. None of the crayons snapped in half though, which was good.Note that the crayons are not organized in any way inside the box, which kind of drove me nuts. Spent about 2 hours organizing them into (the closest approximation) of rainbow order.

Great deal and good pencils
I have multiple sets of colored pencils. For nostalgia and comparison I purchased this set of Crayola Colored Pencils. The most I or my kids have had of these was a set of 24. I'm so glad I bought them! The color range is amazing and find that I use a lot of the extras in this set, compared to the 100 set- like Asparagus, Pacific Blue, Ultra Violet and Burnt Sienna. So, I'm glad 'splurged' on the bigger set. These pencils sharpen easily to a sharp point and have a good color pay out. They are a bit sensitive to oils on your paper (from hands or lotion) so it is better not to touch the paper when using these. Just lay down a piece of paper or wear a drawing glove. They blend nicely for a student grade pencil and better than some higher priced ones I've tried and you can get a bunch of layers on the paper if you use a light hand. They work well with Gamsol for blending as well. I'd recommend any colorist or colored pencil artist buy this set. They're not going to be lightfast, or professional, but they're definitely a great quality for the hobbyist, colorist or for fun. I did a portrait in these with multiple layers (at least 10) and am very happy with how it came out. They even had less wax bloom than Prismacolors. Get these for your kids or yourself, you won't regret it!
