LiquaGen - Dual 6 Stage Under Sink Reverse Osmosis Drinking & Aquarium Deionization (RO/DI) Water Filter System (Universal pH Alkaline 100 GPD)

The media could not be loaded. I love that you get a great product for a reasonable price. I bought this primarily to supply water for my 55 gallon aquarium. That is the yellow line I show in the video. It delivers water de ionized with a ph of 6.86 and TDS of 20. The drinking water out of the filter delivered through the sink mounted faucet has a TDS of 36 and my water supply going to the filter with no filtration is TDS 0f 365. So it does work well TDS is total dissolvable solids.I have installed them before so this was not a first for me but I must say the instructions in this kit was not the best to understand and did not explain key items about my specific 6 stage system I also had to make several trips to the hardware store to pick up missing or incorrect fitting that were not included in the box with the product. Online videos of instillation help but again not an installation video for this specific model which would have helped. In summary great product but may require a experienced installer if you do not find yourself to be great at DIY projects.

Product worked fine for a good while then when I had a clear filter canister suddenly crack and leak, I tried to order a new one. Found out they discontinued my model and I got the runaround and just can’t seem to get a filter canister so now I have no choice but to buy a whole new system. Not cool at all. I gave up trying to get a replacement after 7 separate attempts of phone calls chats and so forth. Not buying from them ever again.

I've used RO systems for years. It began with a need for highly pure drinking water rather than what I could get out of the tap. And then I dove into salt water reefing, and I discovered the joys of combining an RO system for drinking water and for aquarium water. When my old home made system finally died right in the middle of the Covid crisis, I found this unit and I ordered it. It arrived quickly (all things considered). But I must agree with other people that the included instructions are poor. As a matter of fact, they didn't match the system I ordered at all. Don't misunderstand - the instructions they sent were beautifully published. But they were not for my system - just a generic system. But, with an chemical engineering degree and having built my own before, this was no problem. I did find better instructions on their website, but still not totally accurate to what was sent. But I don't care about any of that. I just reference it to say that if you don't know your way around filters, just spend some time with their support folks and you will be just fine. These folks are responsive and easy to talk to. It's easy. And they have done a good job of providing color coded tubing to help make the hookup easier. The only reason I have given four stars instead of five, is because of the condition of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd stage filters upon arrival. They were not wrapped. All three were out of their wrapper. I should clarify that they were simply dropped into their respective housings. Fortunately, I had a supply of the sediment, GAC (granular activated carbon), and carbon filters from my old system and they fit just fine. Now, to be fair, the RO membrane, the DI cartridge and the remineralization/carbon cartridge were pre-installed and therefore "out of the wrappers" as well. But that's a little different. They weren't open to the air. Given the Covid situation (and the fact that atmospheric exposure deplete the effectiveness of carbon filters), those other filters should have come wrapped. This IS supposed to be a sanitary system. But that is the only real complaint. Now, let me deal with the folks who say "it's poor quality" and "parts are breaking." These are standard consumer grade parts. Yes, you will occasionally find a part that is broken. But ALL these parts can be found at your local big box store. So if you needed a part, you can get a part. But in my 23 years of working as a chemical engineer and dealing with parts just like these on a weekly basis both at work and at home, these parts are NOT low quality. They are standard consumer grade quality and with few exceptions will serve you well if you treat them how they are supposed to be treated. No, you cannot wrench down hard of plastic parts. They aren't designed for it. That doesn't make them low quality. Overall, I was very pleased with the fit and finish of this product. If I ever need to order another system again, I'll definitely be coming back to these folks. I only ask that they leave the pre-RO filters in their wrappers. For my part, I threw those away and replaced them with my own. No big deal as these filters aren't expensive anyway. "Why didn't I return it if it bothered me so much?" Because filters are consumable items and, again, they aren't expensive, and I just didn't care enough. I only mention it because YOU might care more than I did. But yes. I recommend a purchase. Oh, and hit the Liquagen website for a much better installation manual. I found mine on their Installation Manuals page and it was titled: "6 Stage RO/DI 2 on top." "Why don't I just give you the URL?" you ask. Because it might change. And I believe people should not be spoon fed. You can search as well as I can. :-) Buy this system! I don't think you'll regret it.

It was fairly easy to install took less than an hour. Only thing is the manual flush was not explained clearly on the instructions. Make sure you run the manual flush which is a valve on the black drain line for 30 min when you first run the system to clean out the carbon residue on the membranes then close that valve or you will just keep draining all the RO water into the drain. Made that mistake had to call customer service. Other than that it is working great I would highly recommend this system for those who have an aquarium setup and those that want good tasting clean water.

Cheap plastic parts, did not even install it. Tried to tighten quick connects with my finger tips and both of them broke off! I would not trust installing this unit under my sink! I do not recommend this RO/DI unit/brand to anyone. Fake reviews.

Installation was fairly simple. The dual system works well using for drinking water and for salt water aquarium. Saving $ now by removing the need to buy bottled spring and distilled water. I needed some assistance and LiquaGen support was quick, helpful and very responsive. Great work guys! Thanks

I am really enjoying the drinking water that comes from the ro system. It tastes phenomenal.I installed the unit in my basement. The re-mineralized line is ran into my refrigerator and the 0 tds side I have going to the utility sink in my laundry room which I am using to water orchids and carnivorous plants with.The installation took a few hours, but much of that time was because of how i wanted the connections ran and mounting it on a wall along with the tank.The included instructions are awful. Some steps are already done, others steps are incomplete.You will need teflon tape. I had to add a several wraps of teflon to the threads of the cartridges.All in all I am very pleased with the results.

The pros:Fairly easy to install.Works as described.The cons:The instructions need to be updated to exclude any steps pre done and explain more on what they are lacking.Wish it came with a pressure guageListed the ro to waste ratioSome o ring to use for fittings instead of teflon tape.I use it both for my saltwater reef tank and drinking water. So far it has met my expectations. My wife wanted one that we could use for drinking water along with my aquarium. The parts seem of good quality. Will update in a few months of use and I put the pressure guage on.
