Much better than I expected
A lot better than I thought. I don’t usually buy items like these as I find them gimmicky however due to recently moving and not having an oven for a few weeks. I got this. This is a really good product easy to use and surprisingly accurate with the different settings. Not tried poached eggs but with boiled eggs it cooks them almost perfect. Great price and saves on electric and water.

Good quality, compact, works well
Bought to replace the comparable 'VonShef' branded one we previously owned that stopped working one day after about 2 years. I went for this brand as I've had several kitchen products from Salter and they've always been good quality. I paid £13.99 (full price) for mine which was cheaper than the one it was replacing and feels like a good price for a quality item like this. The first thing I'll say is my relief at having PRINTED measurements on the cup! The previous one just had raised markings, making it so hard to see the water level (see comparison pic). This one is far more sensible and, even if the ink wears off in the future, it's still a far better system than the previous. It's developed the brown staining pictured after 2 uses, although I feel like that's to be expected (my other one did exactly the same). I've found using an abrasive cleaner like The Pink Stuff gets rid of it without too much hassle. There was still a trace of water left in the tray (my old one would boil off all the water), which boiled away quickly once I'd taken the lid off. I'm guessing this is designed to limit the build-up of staining over time. The boil function worked great and cooked quicker than I remember my old one doing. We've tried 'soft' and 'hard' eggs (medium size Tesco eggs, if that makes a difference) and both are what you'd expect ('soft' gave a liquid yolk, set white; 'hard' cooked the egg through). Our old one was more of a guessing game, and I found myself having to add more or less water than the designated mark to achieve the result I was expecting. When the eggs were done, the light made an audible 'click' as it switched off, which was enough to alert me as I was in the room at the time.I'm not overly impressed with the poaching function. I 'preheated' the machine in order to melt the butter I had put in the cups, but even with the cups coated in butter, the egg still stuck to them a fair bit. I also had to run the machine through 3 cycles (I used the "medium 1-3 eggs" marking) before they were cooked through. That said, I bought it to boil eggs, the poach function was an added bonus, but one I won't use again as it was too much of a faff. The egg pricker is sharp enough to get through the shells with ease (I know I keep comparing it, but this pin is MUCH easier to use than my old one!); there's no twisting the egg back and forth trying to break through, and it's not sticking out risking pricking your finger. I like that the little handle for the egg tray is removable, it's a nice little design, and it's sturdy when locked in place.Everything fits inside the lid (if arranged as pictured, if your poaching cups are the other way up then it's a squeeze) and all-in-all it's a compact, good quality little cooker.

Salter EK4213S Omelette Maker – XL
Love this omlette maker - perfect results every time and really easy to use. Because of the round plates, it also great for doing fried eggs - pop them in a muffin, which the plates are a perfect size for, with some cheese and bacon - delicious!I would recommend the round plate type of omlette maker over the traditional shape because its more flexible if you want to try other things (such as muffins, cakes etc).Only drawback is that the cord is very short, and it would be great if the plates were removable as that would make it easier to clean (although to be honest, its pretty quick and easy to clean anyway).Highly recommended.

Review of egg cooker 😁🥚👍
++ There are multiple products on the page, this one is for the first product the egg cooker (boiled and poached eggs) ++This is a simple but effective device that I now use exclusively for my boiled and poached eggs as it is easy to use and gives great results. It is essentially a hot plate that steams the compartment to cook the eggs. The clever bit is the measuring cup that you use to top it up and is marked to show you exactly how much water to use. Be careful with the steam when removing the lid and also the piercing needle on the underside of the measuring cup. (note I use large size eggs)Boiled eggs : Remove everything from the unit and fill up the cup to the appropriate marked level. Pour the water in then put the black tray and then your eggs in. Carefully pierce the top of the eggs once beforehand using the spike on the bottom of the cup. Put on the lid, press the button and wait. After 7 or so minutes when the light goes off your lovely eggs are ready ! There is no beep or timer so keep an eye out, maybe set an alarm if you're absent minded like me.Poached eggs : Very similar but you just crack the eggs into the two trays provided and place onto the black tray (not directly onto the metal base). The poached eggs aren't quite as perfect as "proper" poaching however but give better results than the microwave trays I used to use and are more than adequate for kitchen numpties like me.Several weeks in I'm still happy with device and use it regularly though it does feel a little flimsy and the bottom tray is a bit discoloured also. I do worry about losing the all important measuring cup however all the parts can be stored inside the unit when not is use so hopefully it won't be an issue. Overall though I'm glad I "shelled out" twenty quid on this as it doesn't take up too much cupboard space and encourages me to eat lots more lovely protein filled eggs🥚🥚🥚👍🙂
