When I apply it before bed, I don't wake up having hot flashes during the night, so it's a win for me. I see that other reviewers have said that it has a menthol smell. I don't know if the formula has changed since those reviews or what, but mine doesn't have a menthol smell at all. It has a mild, pleasant scent, somewhat floral.
