Beautiful plant
I am amazed with this plant. It arrived through the post in a plastic bag. It didn’t look like much, just a brown lump, with a very tiny white shoot coming out of it. I popped it in the tank, buried under the sand and forgot about it. Two weeks later, it has 6 leaves on it and another poking out of the sand. It’s beautiful and is growing very quickly. Well worth the money.

It never germinated...
Unfortunately, the bulb never germinated... It looked healthy enough when I got it and I gave it plenty of time but not a single root or shoot appeared in the two months I have had it. So I gave up and bought a germinated plant elsewhere and this one is doing well.It is the luck of the draw with buying bulbs: most will germinate but some won't - I was just unlucky with this one. However, once germinated these plants are very easy to grow and look after and are great for bettas.

Weird bulb
This should have roots coming out of the bottom of the bulb and the leaves out of the top (obviously really). It came with no roots at all and when I planted it with the leaves at the top (as you would) the roots started to grow from the top as well. I'm guessing this is due to the way it's grown by the supplier? It's still growing so hopefully will be okay long term. I used a plant stone weight that I had from a previous purchase to weigh it down until the roots had grown and just broke it half when I was satisfied it was well secured.

Hit or Miss
Hit or miss if they grow, only last a short time then die back.have tried removing from aquarium and letting rest for a few months but doesn't help.

Be patient
Came as a bulb with no growth so wasnt sure which way to plant it so just placed it onto the gravel and hoped for the best. If youre after an immediate result youll be disappointed as it took a good few weeks to start sprouting shoots but now its growing like wild fire, well worth the patience, not as red as expected but thats probably down to lighting. As you can see from the photos my betta loves hiding in it and regularly has a nap on the leaves, very happy with my purchase which arrived quickly.
