Perfect for a 5 gallon aquarium
Good light, I do agree with other reviews that it does get hot to the touch. I added a smart plug to mine and have it set on a timer so I never actually have to touch it except when I’m doing water changes. Perfect for my 5 gallon aquarium and it work with frames or frameless tanks. Would purchase again.

Great little light!
Super happy with this buy. This is the PERFECT replacement for the Marineland Portraits light! The difference is huge. Can't attest to plant growth yet as it's new, but seeing my fish is now way easier.

Great Light for Plants
I purchased this light to grow plants in the Marineland Portrait. I bought this light in addition to growing plants because of its design, which is not too long for the tank. In addition, the design allows the light to be attached to the back of the tank rather than lying straight on top.I have been very happy with this light for growing plants. This light has been running on a timer for 6 hours a day since October 2020 and has done a good job growing java fern, anubias, and an amazon sword. If anything the light may be a bit strong for these plants since I needed to add the floating salvia due to excessive algae. I cannot speak to how this light does with high-light plants and more of a high-tech aquarium set-up. The one con is the way that the light attaches via an actual flattened screw. Normal vibrations of the tank along with the light being bumped during water changes, feeding, etc. have caused the screw to wear into the plastic on the back of the tank. I've since placed a piece of flat wood between the screw and tank, but think that a different attachment can be used to secure it.

Lasted only 5 months!
It's a wonderful light that my plants definitely benefited from. Great plant growth in a 5 gallon rimless cube. But 5 months after I bought it, the white LED's started blinking in some areas. It'll give me a headache if I'm in the room and the light blinks high/low, so I turn on the day lights when I leave for work, and turn them down if I'm in the room with the tank. What crap. I expect better from Aqueon!

Took me 3 lights before I found this one
Have had the light over a year and it is still operating perfectly, its gotten wet, all lights are still working, not a cheaply made LED light. Works well for plant growth

Gets pretty hot versus old light but more light output.
This product is brighter than my previous light of similar size but trade-off is it gets much warmer. I'm afraid to cover the tank with the cloth because it could burn. Whereas previously I was able to cover the light at night when the kids went to sleep. On the night mode for blue light it is only warm which is standard. Overall I do see the plants growing much better on my seven gallon tank. I have Amazon sword and Moss and various plants. I did a small modification (cut bottom 1") for it to fit perfectly in my petco Imagitarium 6.8 gallon previous light base. Would definitely buy this again as it is more sleek and does a perfect match. Before I get flak on the tank cleanliness I have not cleaned it for 3 years lol. I only do water changes, filter change and trim the plants. I let that fish and shrimp take care of the rest. 😀👍Update: After about 6 months two of the 30 or so LEDs to them have burnt out. Still a good light.

Get super hot
It’s a nice light but it’s gets so so hot when it’s on, I only do 7 hours for my setup and still it’s hot to the touch.

Good little light
I bought this aquarium light for my ten gallon tank with 8 celestial pearl danios. I would say my fish-keeping ability is beginner to intermediate. So far the light seems to work well and I like that it sits up above the water rather than straddles the tank. It is very bright compared to the former led I had on my tank.Setup is straightforward and I’ve had no problems with the light staying put. I have it on a timer and I like that you can choose a lower light level. Especially since the light has been encouraging algae to grow. Not that my plants are getting bigger hopefully they’ll be thriving more than the algae.
