Excellent game
Brilliant addition to the Doom franchise. Thoroughly enjoyed it! It has different difficulties but you can scale some things up and down to make it easier or more challenging. Like how much damage you deal and how much the enemies do to you. I would really recommend this game to anyone that likes the other doom games. Doom guy looks great and the weapons are so much fun!!!

Essential
Have played all the Doom games from the original Shareware on a 286 DOS PC on and have thoroughly enjoyed the modern takes Doom (2016) Doom Eternal and now Doom The Dark Ages. ID wisely decided they couldn’t just make more of the same so we get a tougher, chunkier Slayer, more grounded who doesn’t jump around like the previous two games (but mantles and climbs). He’s no slouch though and charges around the ground at a fair old lick and, like before, you have to keep moving to survive despite having a shield (which is another cool weapon addition). I believe there’s been some moaning about price but the game is huge, with 22 levels… no 6 hour FPS flash in the pan here! So, ignore the nay-sayers and join the Doom Slayers!

A very good first person shooter plays like the original Doom.
This is a old school action video game for those of us over 40 and remember the original doom video game. I have played the first half a hour of this it plays like the older doom video games from the old days where you fight lots of different enemies with different weapons , graphically this is pretty good i am still installing the rest of this video game only played the first level of it is pretty good , it's nice to find games you can play offline too with a single player mode. The first level has plenty of action to it where you are shooting things with a shot gun and picking up various health packs that help you along the way as you fight against bigger enemies. This reminds me of Halo on the Xbox , where that is a pure action game.

Shield me from this 1-dimensional nightmare
If you're a fan of the Doom franchise, now is the time to save yourself and your pocket. I should have known when the intro to the game is all about granular difficulty and how you can adjust it as you go, even nightmare mode ins't worth the title of previous Doom's. All I can think right now is that the adaptable difficulty as you play is to help you get through the really dreadful levels. The shield, ohh don't you know we have a shield now, it's the focus of everything now, you even have to use it to kill certain enemies by timing your shield just right on their green-fire to bat it back at them, no avoiding it; it's become the true and almost total focus of the game now. From here you get to play the feature levels, where you have to put on the huge Doom-guy suit and battle the huge monsters and knock down bridges... well, by that I mean walk a very specific path through some crumbling building and then button-smash your way past a few "big" demons that are now actually your size as you're technically huge now too. Then you'll end up being on a dragon, which isn't doom, it's just annoying and tiring having to fly about and destroy turrets just to land and get back to the proper stuff again, it makes me sad what's happened to such an iconic game. Much less open-world wandering about than even before, just corridor-battle-corridor-battle. Gutted.

Another brilliant Doom!
What to say, I’ve played Doom since its release in 1993. Every new game is the next level! true fans will love it.

Good game though needs more content
Good game, but needs more content for the price, you can up the difficulty but there is no game plus or some arena mode. Once you have finished it there is not much else to do.
