Can you carve these to shape them

There are many uses for foam noodles and we have heard of this being done. We have seen final images of projects done but we do not know what tool was used to slice and form them. It should be possible based on what we have seen over the years.

we do not. this is the only color for the 1.5 inch. you can paint them if you need to.

Can this be used for backer rod in concrete expansion joint applications?

Depends on how big the expansion joint is. For my driveway concrete, I bought a special made noodle for driveways. It was sturdier than these noodles. My finger nails make holes in them very easily. I am thinking this is porous versus the driveway noodle or whatever it is called. Not sure what project/job you plan to use it. Good luck!
