Works great for me
I’m 76 with low quad muscles. I didn’t realize the quads have such a direct effect on hypertension of the knee. This brace works perfectly while I exercise and built up my quads. The pain from hypertension is awful!

Beware
This is the second one that I have bought since March 17 it is May 9. I could not return the first one and it broke so I am trying a second one. This is not for me. This is for my nephew who is handicapped the return service is not good.

Potential for breaking
This is Probably the best brace on the market for Genu Recurvatum; however, while it offers good resistance to posterior stress such as hyper extension of the knee, it may fracture in the midline of the posterior supporting structure along the level of the bolt placement. With the first fracture, I simply ordered a second brace and thinking that I might have received a faulty one the first time. Nonetheless, the second brace fractured in the same place. The fracturing occurred when I was not wearing the brace and had simply laid each brace down on a table. I think that there may have been posterior to anterior tension that caused the fracture in that the brace may not be reinforced well enough to Resist that direction of pressure. Currently, I have salvaged the most recent brace by placing a stack of three modified Wooden tongue depressors anterior and posterior to the point of fracture and securing these in place with electrical tape. For the time being, this seems to be working and providing adequate support against the genu recurvatum, as well as the pressure in the opposite direction when laying the brace down. I am a physician and commonly prescribe braces and orthotics for my patients. I have Genu Recuvatum (MS related) and have tried many braces to help with this. I believe this brace is the best one in this price range. Just be aware that it may break and you can salvage it.I would recommend that the manufacturers consider using a light weight metal for the posterior support or reconsider the placement of the posterior bolt through the composite plastic material they currently use. The bolt placement may be creating an unintended point of weakness that leads to fracturing.

Very awkward to wear
I had high hopes for this brace, but it is very uncomfortable. If you tighten it to wear, it is too tight to sit. If loosen it some standing, it is very loose when you sit. The brace mechanism at the knee sticks out when you sit, as it does not bend. It is not an easy wear.

Great brace until it breaks
Well, this brace was working great, I have extreme spasticity in my right leg and hyper extension, but the brace was doing an excellent job of bending it most of the time. But then the top hinge that kept the strap on snapped six days after the return window closed, so the brace is useless, $200 down the drain.

Works great.
My left knee tends to hyperextend after a spinal cord injury. As a result I don't put much weight on that side with has let me gait well off balance. I haven't used this much but it does prevent the hypertension so I'm hopeful that with time, I will trust my left side more and improve my gait.
