Love this book, very insightful, learning something new with every turn of the page

This book provides lots of ideas for short breaks across Europe. You could also link a fee of them together to make a longer break. I love it.

Lonely Planet 100 Weekends in Europe ;An attractive , chunky coffee table book with snapshot info and pictures ,inspiring ideas and destinations for short trips around Europe .As ever with Lonely Planet , there’s ‘must sees’ , suggestions for food and entertainment ,travel options and interesting local facts.Simple maps are included along with an index map of Europe for all the destinations you will find in the book.Restaurants , stations , airports, etc are all mentioned but not specific timetables or costs ,meaning the book will not outdate too quickly.Lovely to flick through and great inspiration to visit some of our lovely European towns and cities . It would make a lovely gift.

Splitting Europe into regions, it offers a punchy snapshot of 100 destinations - from well-known and iconic cities to hidden gems you've probably never heard of. Each destination gets about four pages of glossy images, with highlights, quirky facts, and practical info like how to get there and where to stay. It’s more about sparking ideas than giving you a detailed travel plan, but that’s part of the appeal. If, like me, you're always browsing for travel inspo and dreaming of your next escape, this is a great pick.

Lovely coffee table book with the quality you would expect from Lonely Planet. Nice pictures and punchy layout offering a snap shot of 100 different places to visit in Europe. Sadly this is a very brief overview with approximately 4 pages dedicated to each place it appears half of this is large pictures so only, at most, 2 pages (or a few paragraphs) to each location. That said, true of Lonely Planet publications, each section offers interesting snippets of 'must see' or unique facts about an area, some fun 'off the beaten track' ideas not just mainstream tourism. If you are looking for weekend break ideas this book is a good conversation starter but if you are looking for holiday structure and specific information this probably isn't the book for you.
