20th Century User Interface
I've been using of Garmin devices since 1989, when their first aviation GPS I had was called ProNav (but they had to change the name to Garmin) Since then, anything GPS has been a Garmin device, in my aircraft, car, golf and watches with or without GPS. That's my 'bone fides'To the Foretrex. Make no mistake, it is a very clever device for the long range shooter BUT the serious shooter will want to input custom data and that can only be done directly on the device one entry at a time, up and down menu options. There is no software either for a PC or Smartphone, that presents you with a 21st Century GUI where you can enter your data, REVIEW your data (even run a simulation for a sanity check, remember GIGO!) and then upload to the Foretrex.Gramin want's you to link al your devices through their Garmin Connect, either on a Computer or Smartphone but the main priority seems to be Fitness and tracking your fitness, no matter what device you have. You can't use Connect to enter data relevant to Ballistics.Come on Garmin, catch up and give users a Computer and Smartphone GUI interface suited to wearables with complex variables.I feel so strongly about this issue, I felt like giving it 2 stars overall but it does not deserve 5 stars just because it's a one of a kind wearable device.
