I ordered this adapter immediately after receiving one of the cheaper “enet cables for bmw f series” on amazon that was just completely lacking in quality or durability and looked as if it would fail within weeks. but, upon receiving this it’s immediately apparent how much higher quality it is. It has strain relief on all the places you’d want it and nice thick cables as well as matching connectors made out of high-quality feeling plastic. i know i’ve repeated “high-quality” a couple times now but until it fails that’s how i feel about it. i’m not sure I believe it’s actually made by “Autel” as the only marking on the cable says “obd-ii”but it at the very least, it brings the quality & durability that you’d expect from them.

My Mini cooper is essentially a BMW and has all the BMW factory settings. Since the screen complained about the LED’s low power, I’m limited to halogen. This Autel cable allows me to hook my car up to my computer or cell phone via an OTP hub adapter and run Bimmercode enabling me to change a lot of settings including the above. The screen doesn’t complain when I start the car and I get brighter reverse lights so I can see a little better backing up.The cable itself feels like it’s good quality with sturdy connectors and strap for binding it in a roll for easy storage. It’s not something I’m likely to use often, but it will save me hundreds of dollars down the road.I need a new battery soon and BMW charge to code your battery to your car. That’s one of the things I will be able to do through this cable.

If you do anything with your car computer this is a great deal. Instead of being limited to whatever programmer comes with a scanner with just one you have the access of a computer. There's a lot more you can do with it depending on what type of car you have. I'm using this one for my BMW X5 this allows me to unlock a lot of features

I ordered this cable so I could do some programming on my BMW 8 series. It was really easy to download the software that I needed, and then run this cable to my OBDII port. The cable worked flawlessly, hooked right in easily and no trouble with transmitting the data back and forth between my laptop and the car. Be aware that you'll need an adapter to add to the RJ45 end of this cable, in order to plug it into a laptop or other hand held device. Not many people have a desktop computer with that kind of ethernet port available in their garage.I am completely happy with this cable, and would order it again if needed.
