Simple fix
I don't know why the original one was plastic but it broke. Found this one and very happy with the results. It is built with quality and I hope it lasts a long time. Would recommend.

Works but need to retain the original nut
This replacement worked fine. The shaft and ball were compatible with my existing drain. However I needed to use it with the old nut. Fit ok otherwise and no leaks.

Worked great
We had to change out this piece because it was broken and leaking. Come to find out it was also very rusted. Got this replacement and it worked perfectly very very happy and I did it myself and I’m 76 years old.

Make sure it is the right size.
This is good quality but the screw on cap is not universal and did not fit. The ball is specific as well. I had to return it and buy a universal kit. That kit was lower quality parts but it fit right.
