Tastes like the real thing
This stuff is amazing! Tastes like the real thing. Even has a peppery kick as it goes down.

Not for me.
This is the 2nd non-alcoholics whiskey i've tried and the only reason I tried this vs buying the other one again was due to the reviews of this one. Being an alcoholic and in recovery I still like the taste of beer and whiskey's. This one mixed with coke tasted horrible almost like a caramel coke taste. The smell out of the bottle was almost obsolete. Both were so bad for me that I didn't even attempt to try it over the rocks. I'm sorry for the poor review but this is my brutally honest opinion.

Alternative NOT substitute.
Start with the mindset that this is a whiskey alternative NOT substitute. Color is a little cloudy, fragrance is pleasant, somewhat floral. Tasting a small amount neat, there are early notes of vanilla and honey with strong intermediate taste of clove (a little more than I prefer, but okay). The finish had flavors of cinnamon with a light peppery burn that simulated alcohol.A standard jigger over ice in a highball glass topped all the way with ginger ale made a nice refreshing 'whiskey and ginger'. Although, because of the strong spice flavors, I had to reduce the volume by half in my Irish cream recipe (very good in coffee). On to more cocktail recipes!I compared this to another product with similar review ratings (NkD) and found Trejo's to be superior.Update: this product makes a nice beverage by adding about 60ml. to a 1 liter bottle carbonated soda stream water.

Simply satisfying
I finished the bottle with a group of friends. Both straight and mixed. It was enjoyed by all. I really enjoyed the pepper kick burn as it goes down. Mixed with coke, and water and flavored water. As a non alcoholic drink, this is the best that I have tried. I have two more bottles on the way. I think way too many people are trying to hard to compare it to whiskey or bourbon. This has a great smell when you open the bottle. And a great taste and a satisfying finish. I will always have this in stock at my house.

Doesn’t taste like whiskey, honestly.
Something about the flavor is just not hitting any of the malt notes or flavors of a real whiskey. This kind of tastes like a watered down juice that has notes of cinnamon and bitters. I tried it neat and mixed with a cola as a cocktail, and all it did to the coke was make it taste slightly more fruity in flavor. If you're not a whiskey drinker, this would probably be great. But as a person who actually drinks whiskeys and bourbons, this just doesn't cut it for me.

I wanted to love it but damn. It tastes so bad :(
I wanted to try making mocktails for Dry January, and got the whiskey alternative. I never intended to try this "neat" or on the rocks or anything, per other reviews.I loved the packaging and presentation. I made myself a little mocktail, and damn!!! First I was hit with the smell of unexpected and strange spices. Like cloves? I took a sip. It did have that warm, alcohol-like feel. Then it tasted like chemicals! I want to say Pine Sol? Did these people even try their product? I did not expect perfection, but this tasted nothing remotely like whiskey or really anything you would ever put in your body. With so many people drinking less or going sober, surely we can do better than this. Don't waste your money. I tried Spiritless after this disaster and it's so much better.

I guess the emphasis here should be more "Alternative" and less "Whiskey"
It is more like an exotic apertif than a whiskey substitute. Absolutely has to be consumed with some kind of mixer and not on the rocks, or neat. I suppose you could draw a very distant connection to whiskey flavor, although I am certain this will be our last bottle.

Happy to report this is good stuff
If you've bought non-alcoholic "spirits" before, you probably can relate to the cringe of taking that first sip, please be good, please be good, please be good...Hey - this is pretty good!OK - it's not tequila. Mouthfeel is close but a little more watery, and it doesn't have the same agave richness/sweetness. But what I really do like is the finish - this is the closest I've seen yet to the "burn" finish of an alcoholic spirit. Seedlip can be used to make a good/complex mocktail, but I've always found it unimpressive by itself and this really justifies that position, to me.Try harder, Seedlip and others.I tried it last night in a palomoa, doing the recommended 1:1 substitute for tequila. The grapefruit overpowered, but when I added an extra ounce of Trejo's, that worked out pretty nicely. So as with most spirits, this is something to experiment with and make notes on how to use. (You're not going to 1:1 substitute Clase Azul for Don Julio Anejo, either...)One worry - my bottle came in a colorful box (I'm a sucker for good packaging), but there was no plastic seal over the cork? I see one in the pictures, not sure if this is a QA thing, there's an issue, or they decided NA doesn't need a seal...
