Great little scale!
The size makes this an easy item to keep in a drawer or even take while traveling (if, like me, you really geek out on your coffee pour-overs). It is rechargeable with a USB-C cord (included is a USB-A to USB-C cable), which also makes it easy for travel. The small size also makes this an easier item to keep out on your coffee counter, and it looks good enough to be a constantly-displayed item.Of course, it is a scale, so it's equally as handy with measurements of things other than coffee (i.e. baking ingredients, etc.). The timer also lends itself well, not only to coffee-making, but also other kitchen-related activities. It's easy to clean and it's very helpful that the USB port has a silicone cover, protecting it from moisture damage. It also makes a great conversation piece - especially to your dorky coffee friends, of which I have many.

Amazing little scale!
I had a very old kitchen scale that I needed to upgrade and I'm glad I saw this one and was able to try it out! It's so beautiful and modern looking, with a sleek and simple design yet it has a lot of stuff going on with the options. I actually have been using this for measuring baking ingredients rather than measuring out coffee, but I think you can use this little scale for multiple uses honestly. I like that it was a timer too since I can use it to time my oven while I use it during baking, though I don't use it too much it's still nice to have as an option. Overall, this is a great scale that's super easy to use and doesn't take up much space!

Nice scale, works well, but memorizing how to use the functions may take a while.
I think this is a pretty good scale and useful for more than just making coffee. I have one other coffee scale that I use occasionally and find it helpful both inside and outside of the kitchen. The main difference between my old scale and this one is that this scale also provides a rate of weight added (i.e., grams/sec or oz/sec).The scale comes with a silicon rubber mat that covers a little more than half of the top surface. It serves to provide both a non-slip surface to place objects, but also a thermal barrier between your hot coffee and the scale itself (to protect it from damage). There is an on/off switch and a covered USB-C port on one side and two buttons on top that are a touch sensitive surface. Included with the scale and silicone rubber mat is a USB-A to USB-C cable to charge the unit and a user’s manual. The one thing is to make sure you remove the white rubber inserts on the bottom corners before you use it.The display on the unit show battery level, volume, the timer, weight, flow rate (or weight per second), what units your using, and if the auto-timing mode is active. The two functional buttons flank the display with one on either side at the front corners. The display is plenty easy to read, and being that it is on the top of the scale, so long as you don’t cover it up, it is easy to see as you stand over your brew. I think my only complaint is that the unit indicators (i.e., g/s or oz/s) are in different locations. g/s is correctly located to the flow rate portion of the display, but oz/s is located between time and weight. I do not know why they didn’t just put them in the same place (maybe oz/s could be place right above g/s).This scale has only two buttons. One is dedicated to the timer function and the other for everything else. Given how much this scale can do, I’m not sure I like that there are only two buttons. At least the makers thought of that and provided a useful label/overlay on the unit that gives all of this information (and when you memorize it, you can just peal it off). There are also instructions on the bottom of the unit, but that’s not as useful when you forget what to do and you can’t exactly turn it over to take a peak when you’re in the middle of using it.This scale seems to be rather accurate and easy to use (so long as you can remember how to use those two buttons). The built in battery last a long time (I haven’t run it down yet) and makes it convenient to take on the go. I am not sure how much I will use the flow rate feature, but it may grow on me and maybe I’ll just make a better cup of coffee because of it.

New and improved!
Just about a year ago I found myself really, REALLY getting into coffee. When time came to choose a scale I was torn between the $50 Timemore and the more lavishly expensive Acaia Pearl, with it's real-time flow-rate tracking. Ultimately I settled on the Timemore, allowing me to put the saved money towards other equipment. Though I never once regretted the decision (the original Black Mirror is still a FANTASTIC scale) I increasingly found myself wanting to play around with that functionality.Enter the Black Mirror 2.0!And it very much is a 2.0 — everything I loved about the original, now upgraded here and there. The primary new feature is, of course, the flow-rate tracking, and it's every bit as interesting and useful as I hoped it would be.Other noteworthy changes include:- A welcome update to all interface components. The power/tare and timer buttons are no longer recessed, making cleaning easier. The USB charging port now features a silicone cover to prevent damage. The on/off switch now blends in, rather than sticking out like a sore thumb.- Basic features, such as how to enable/disable beeping, have now been printed on the back of the unit.- The addition of an auto-start feature has been added, though I haven't played around with that much.Battery life should be nothing short of incredible. In the 8 months I owned the original, used twice daily and for periods ranging from 4-11 minutes, I only had to charge the scale twice. Clean-up has always been easy, and now that the USB port has been covered there is essentially zero risk of water damage. The one shortcoming I ever had with both scales is the included silicone hotpad to help prevent frying the internals. Too floppy, too loose. I switched over to using felt coasters in place of that pretty quickly and never looked back.I highly recommend either of these scales.
