Great replacement for factory latch
Cheap replacement for a factory latch. They last me about 12 months and then I replace it with another. Good price. Repair shop wants $300 for this fix. 3 minute job and $20 and it’s done. Very simple to do. Perfect fit.

Worked fine for a 2012 GTI
I got this to replace failed hatch latch on 2012 GTI. It did the trick at a fraction of the cost of an OEM part. It works about the same as the original, with maybe not as pronounced of a "latch" sound when you close it but it has worked perfectly since installation. Putting it in is fairly straightforward. You need 2 semi-specialty tools - torx bit and a particular hex bit for the two big bolts. If you google it and watch a video you'll see what you need. Any normal autoparts store or even a walmart will have the two bits, or Amazon for that matter.

Perfect replacement part at an affordable price

Seems better than OEM part
Installed perfectly on 2017 VW Tiguan Wolfsburg edition. The latch mechanism which moves to open and close over hook... It feels sturdier than the OEM version which broke. The part is slightly different at top (plastic molding sits lower from door frame) but this has NO bearing on the latch matching up with vehicle. All non OEM parts shave off unnecessary plastic pieces. You do not need to mark where old part was because resecuring the M8 bolts assures you are aligned. This part is excellent. Will update if it fails, but I don't think it will.

Works good and fits good
This lock actuator is identical to the part that was replaced, except for the black plastic sleeve covering the latch part that is not as long as the original part. If installed straight from the box, this shorter cover would leave a visible gap between the latch and the door.My suggestion: Remove the cover (or sleeve) from the old latch and use it to replace the same cover that comes on the new latch. it takes minutes and then you will get a perfect fit without gaps.Let's see how long it lasts.
