Pickaxe Mini Hand Mattock With Fibreglass Handle Double End Hardened Head For Gardening, Loosening Soil, Camping, Planting & DIY Hand Tool 500g

I bought this to use for breaking up the overgrown roots in a bed in my garden that I was clearing overgrown shrubs and perennials from. I had tried a large metal and wood pickaxe borrowed from my neighbour but found it far too heavy and unwieldy for me to use effectively. ( 62 year old female with a dodgy back) This mini pickaxe is ideal for my purposes. It seems strong and is not too heavy for me to use. I’ve been able to break up and remove lonicera roots and other tangled bundles of compacted roots.

Great one handed tool for breaking up heavy soil and getting through roots which are hard to access. I got rid of a fruit tree and the roots are right up against a wall so needed this as it was difficult to get any where near it with a spade, sturdy and well balanced, can be used 2 handed but is light enough for prolonged single handed use. Have another couple of jobs planned and this will be very useful

I like this little mattock - but feel the last inch of the handle seems a bit floppy.It did a great job of breaking up soil after the turf was removed - more efficient, I feel, than spade/fork/how would have done.Also quite good at getting grass & weeds out from amongst plants in my rather neglected flower beds.

Excellent tool, had one for years but lost it in the garden! It will turn up one day. So ordered another one. Great to dig out roots of brambles and other plants.

I am a lady over 21 and been struggling for days to remove an overgrown deep rooted shrub. The mattock was a last resort before I gave in, it is small lightweight and easy to use. After another effort the shrub is out! So pleased with my purchase.

One of my favourite garden tools I have bought. Our garden is built on an old quarry so digging is a challenge to say the least. Used it to dig a pond over the past two weeks and it's been incredibly useful as you can't put a spade in the ground without hitting a rock.I actually broke my first one and contacted the seller directly as I suspected I may have asked a little too much of it to be perfectly honest given our soil. Seller sent a replacement out straight away, credit to Amazon.Well recommended.

Excellent value foroney, lightweight and easy to use. Was sceptical as it was a cheap purchase but well worth every penny.
