Really like this product, well made, looks good in situ, is very useful in terms of making the attic easily accessible and really feels like gaining extra space.This product is a small improvement on other similar products I have bought, in that it includes a second hand rail. Not sure I would say it has improved construction, or that the larch makes it feel more solid over previous products and would not have paid the original £250 asking price.Installation by a novice DIYer is not recommended, and a second pair of hand is helpful as you are working at a height with a relatively heavy item even once the ladders are removed. I bought the 1100x 545mm product and to me, the size is generous, big enough to take large storage boxes into the loft. The product comes with thin architraves to finish the installation, but I found this is improved by using something that matches the doors beneath, but certainly something wider than is included.At the current £124.99 price it is well worth it, and if you are looking for a product like this, you will be happy with this purchase.

The quality and ease of fitting made this an excellent purchase.At long last we have quick, safe and easy access to our loft.Very pleased.

The delivery was very quick - they said next day, and it was (free, too). I fitted this today, and it seems a quality item, that is very sturdy. However, the instructions are just diagrams, with no written instructions, which made it a little difficult to decipher. Fitting is definitely a two-man job, but is easy enough (I'm pretty bad at DIY, but managed fine). Basically, decide where you're locating it, measure (and measure again), cut a hole, make a frame to hold it, and get your 'assistant' to hold it in position while you secure it. All in all, recommended.

A little more difficult to fit than expected but once fitted it is a very good loft ladder which sits in the landing ceiling totally in-noticed as it blends in so well. It comes complete with a plastic surround that finishes of the whole assembly (I wasn't expecting this as it was not clear in the description, so it was a nice surprise). The fitting instruction are clear but I found it easier to assemble from below rather than above.One fitted it is a very sturdy ladder and very easy to pull down and return to closed position.I would recommend this loft ladder.

What a strong and well designed loft ladder! Easy, quiet and safe to operate - one-handed! The counter-springing means that very little effort is required to operate the ladder.Very sturdy to climb up and the handrails are solid, no more wobbling precariously over the landing. No alarming sliding metal ladders with tricky catches and the tendency to drop on your head when hooking them down from the loft or trying to shove them back up.This ladder unfolds very simply in a balanced way and instantly makes a very stable ladder. To put it away, simply refold and allow the hatch door to close. We have installed ours to enable daily access to the loft and could not be more delighted.

I consider myself a competent diy'er and found this ladder was fairly easy to fit only after I had watched several YouTube videos of the process. My original hatch was very small so I had to enlarge the opening by cutting a couple of ceiling joists out. Be careful to do this correctly or you will compromise the strength of your ceiling and roof. I managed to fit it single handed by passing the assembly up into the loft then lowering it onto 2 battons screwed at the end of the opening. The supplied plastic architrave kit wasn't broad enough to conceal the gaps I made cutting the opening so I had to put some wood architrave round it. Very easy to use and looks good.

Easy to install

I am a professional carpenter and joiner, and recently installed this in a customers home address.The ladder is very simple to install, it is already assembled for fitting, and it is a very sturdy bit of kit. It also came well packaged unlike other laddes I bought elsewhere which were damaged.I have previously bought a timber loft ladder at screwfix and the difference in quality is quite apparent.I understand it comes with a plastic trim, however it is best to match existing facings which can be nailed to the frame to cover the opening.Should i get any more jobs like this, I will be buying another.
