Wild.
From the first word I had my cowboy hat, boots, beer and horse at the ready. Bunch of laughs, inspiration and smirks filled the time reading this absolute gold of a book. To the ones who love him, he will mean something different and to the ones who don't, alright, alright, alright.

Inspirational book for all generations
This book doesn't pretend to be something it isn't, the book is written in everyday language that is easy to read and grasp. Mathew writes about his life experiences and what's more important is it's believable and you can identify with.

A hero's road
Channel surfing, many years ago, led me to 'Contact' starring Jodie Foster and Matthew McConaughey, the first I saw and still remember of the actor. Some time ago, his official page showed up on my Instagram feed - his posts struck a chord and I followed the account.Cut to the present, someone in my reading group, reviewed his autobiography, 'Greenlights', raving about it, which led to an instant purchase. The blurb, says, It's a love letter. To life.Spot on.Greenlights departs from the usual autobiographical format - journal entries, musings, doodles, jokes, quotes and life goals augment the personal account, making it connect more.Matthew McConaughey's life, is a story of rewriting codes, right from childhood - the youngest of three brothers, growing up in Texas, with unconventional parents, who divorced and married each other thrice. The siblings went through their own rites of passage into manhood, with their father provoking and instigating them into taking a stand.Following his heart led him into the art of moviemaking and cinema, struggling to get a break, finally making it big, giving up on the lucrative rom com genre, when he was right on top, because it wasn't his soul call. Critical acclaim and meaty roles eventually did answer it.Responding to his visions and dreams, his extensive travels to experience different cultures, ponderings on religion, spirituality, fame and life, guided him to his GREENLIGHTS - the tickets to move forward.A committed family man and philanthropist, he believes, “Every red light eventually turns green.” It's important to know when to persist, pivot, or quit.My sole gripe - wish the print quality was better. It's a strain to read the journal excerpts, some parts, illegible.

Read it to get motivated
The way Mathew takes you through his life, making us believe in the hard work and dedication, talking about the successes and failures in greens and reds, this book is simply one of my favourites.I don’t like reading motivational books, but this one is a motivational book disguised as someone’s experiences and expertises.

Good decent read (Kindle edition not worth it though)
A good narration by the author. It is fun and inspiring to know the tell tale, highs and lows of the brilliant actor who put out his process of evolving in words. But I couldn’t really enjoy the Kindle ebook completely as many pages had pictures which were totally illegible in my Kindle and too tiresome to see on Kindle app(you have to constantly zoom in and out)Wouldn’t recommend to buy Ebook. Can’t comment on the hard copy!

A life with green lights
Green lights is a memoir of actor Matthew McConaughey. It is full of intimate details of his childhood, youth ,his parents and his family and his professional life. Some of the green lights are worth following, others could be better left out. On the whole ,it is an honest account of McConaughey's lifeso far . As he says, live life and do what you enjoy doing.
