I have ordered this book and was eagerly awaiting it. Well, I was blown away when I got it, by the quality of the publication; this is a beautiful book, with a profusion of never before seen photographs and 3D recreations of this fantastic ship.Then I read it, and the book made me realize that, even though I thought I knew the Lusitania's story well, I learned a whole lot! This is a must have for ocean liner enthusiasts, and I will even venture to say, it is the definitive book on the Lusitania! Now I cannot wait for volume 2 to come out!

As a Maritime Artist and Historian, I can promise you that this will be one of the last two books that you will ever purchase about Lusitania. Over the years, I have read books that have repeated the same information time and again. It is definitely a breath of fresh air to see a wonderful group of artists and historians giving Lusitania the attention to detail that she so rightfully deserves. The best part about their research is, if they are not 100% sure about something, they are honest, and let us know along the way.Life of a Greyhound is one of two volumes. When Greyhound’s Downfall is released in Spring 2025, we will have a complete updated version of J. Kent Layton’s original book Lusitania: An Illustrated Biography. If you compare the original book to Life of a Greyhound, you will immediately notice that the biggest overall change is the graphics. The breathtaking graphics within this volume were created by Documentarian Tom Lynskey (HFX Studios) and Graphic Designer Levi Rourke (HFX Studios). The clarity and detail within these graphics allow us to experience Lusitania as if she were right in front of us. This is an experience that should not be missed. I would have thought it impossible to improve on J. Kent Laytons first book Luistania a Biography but this book has done exactly this.The Beatles came together and created what is widely regarded by music critics as the greatest body of work in pop music's brief history. I think you could say the same about J. Kent Layton collabrating with other noted historians and creating this book. This is very much the greatest body of work when it comes to the history of the Luistania, and you can't really beat it.Thank you
