Saved my $$$$
I have two hot water heaters in my home and an Indoor HVAC air handling unit. About a 12 - 18 months ago the indoor HVAC unit discharge got clogged and luckily I found it before to much damage. I ordered this detection unit. I placed one sensor by both of my hot heaters and one by the HVAC unit.On 02/27/25 the Base Station went off at 1:20 AM. If the Base Station is within 15 feet of your bedroom it is going to wake you up. If that does not, and you have your phone programed as instructed, you phone will receive a message.I rushed down stairs to the unit and the base of the water heater was in fact wet, it was not a complete failure and leakage of the water heater, there was very little water, however, there was water. I believe the Pressure Valve opened and let water out for some reason.Whoever installed the water heater wrote the date installed. 03/25/2012, (almost 13.0 years ago). When I saw the date and "Google" the "Normal" life span of a Hot Water Heater I bought a new one and installed it before there was a catastrophic failure that would have cost in the thousands to fix. My downstairs, where the unit is located is approximately located is carpet over concrete. Additionally, I had exercise equipment, spare bedroom, and much more.I ramble on, sorry about that. This Unit performed to expectations and above. It saved me hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars because of a very "damp' wetting. The area it was "guarding" was on an "outdoor carpet" that the previous owner had placed around the WH. It got slightly wet and man the alarms went off.Outstanding product. YES, I own it, Yes I recommend it.

Good spend
Using just leak detection with sws54, sws51 (alarm on sensor model). Well executed and reasonably straightforward to use. When pairing sensor to base station, first try usually fails, but if you try again, it usually pairs in a just a few seconds.Sensor batteries are 2xAAA(included), we’ll see if they last the 2-3 years the manufacturer claims. So far everything they claimed hs been accurate.Besides sinks, toilets consider adding one to monitor the ice maker, water heater, washing machine, and air conditioning tray in the event the drain line is clogged.

First impression great!
Just got done installing the base and 3 leak detectors. App was very easy to follow. Base station setup was a breeze. I also added 3 leak detectors in my kitchen under the sink, and in the garage. Just to ensure slightest leaks I put the sensors on a piece of paper towel. When the towel gets wet it will trigger the sensors. I tested all 3 sensors and able to get notifications immediately in my app and via email. I get notification when i get a new email, so i really don't need a text notification for this. In this setup I didn't have to pay for any subscription.Overall very happy with this detector. One thing i was surprised was that batteries in the sensors were already installed with no protection tape (for shipment purpose so they won't drain). But they were all good and full of charge.

Good Product, Good Price - Not Easiest Install
As the picture shows the instruction manual is very small. I had to scan the pages so I could enlarge it enough to read. The instructions said to hold the pair button for 5 sec and the LED on the Base Station would flash yellow then it could be paired with the phone. The LED flashed as soon as it was plugged in and would not pair. A call to Tech Support was answered by a live Tech who went over the troubleshooting procedure. He told me to reboot my phone and call back if that did not work. It did work after that and the install was easy from there on.I tested the sensors with a wet sponge before I put them in place and after. One was placed in the lower level of the house beside the water heater which is isolated in an enclosed space. The alarm sounded at the base station and on my phone and was very loud. I am hard of hearing and I could hear it very well.I need two more sensors but the only package I can find for sensors only has three units, so I will probably get three and find some place to use the extra one. The units have a low battery warning that messages your phone and it uses AAA batteries that are said to last 3 years.I gave it 4 Stars only because the instructions were difficult to read and not very clear in my opinion. It appears to be a very good product at a good price for insurance against a flooded house, even though my insurance company would not give a discount for it.

Saved us
We bought the water detection units about 18 months ago, after experiencing some occasional water leaks at a 2nd home we have.... we have found the other leaks quite some time after they had started. Today these units saved us a major headache. The condo above us had an a/c unit freeze up and water started running down the wall in our utility closet. The alarm was sent to our smart phone, we called the maintenance service for the property and they were able to address the problem and save major damage/repairs. The unit was there when we needed it, it was easy to set up. Very happy.

Struggled with set up...glad I didn't give up!
I almost gave up but persisted. Seemed easy enough to install, but I struggled. After watching a YouTube video, I figured out where I went wrong. You have to pair the base unit AND each of the detectors! I know makes sense now! After seeing about 30 seconds of the video, the set up was complete. You choose the sensor from the in-app list, name it-follow the steps detailed in the app and within seconds each of the sensors was paired. These detectors work great! I love having some peace of mind after enduring a water leak that left me without a kitchen for 7 months.
