Excellent for a large (!) rucksack
Got a great deal and went for this over 2L version. The insulated cover keeps drinks very cold. This is perfect if you have a large rucksack and need a lot of water (although a bit too big for a day pack if that’s what you would use it for - 1 to 2L is a better option). Still, very good quality though

Brilliant Water Carrier
Brilliant item for water carrying, durable and easy to use, doesn't leak. You just need to make sure the pocket or carrying area on your pack is suitable to carry this item, we use Osprey Talon 22 for day work and will probably use Osprey when we go Long distance on GR7 next year, but will also look at Lowe alpine as we need to get fit right.

Poor Quality When Compared To The Old Camelbaks
I brought this to replace my old 3l Camelbak to allow me to buy the clip on insulated hose.Unfortunately this seems to be another product that has been “improved” by the manufacturer. If you leave the reservoir in the cover and fill it up, you can’t actually get 3l of water in, as the cover is too tight. You have to remove the reservoir from the cover, fill the reservoir, and then force it back in.The quick attachment point for the hose also leaks when subject to movement, meaning you always get a wet area in the bottom of your rucksack at the end of a day of hiking. I’ve read that you need to put some grease on the O ring to stop it leaking at the attachment point, so I’m going to try that. Failing that, it’ll have to sit in a zip lock bag, inside the cover.Overall, it does the job, but compared to the previous version, the quality is very disappointing.

No seal at all!
The media could not be loaded. First of all, after holding the opening in absolute horizontal position, managing to manipulate the tank to accommodate as much water as possible, I couldn't fit more than 1.8L, not 2L as advised. But this is not the biggest problem bar far.. I've tried to close the lid more than 20 times before I could get a proper seal, and even though I could spot few drops coming out.. this is not easy to close or open as Camelbak claims. after this almost perfect seal, to open if required a lot of effort as well, my wife tried and was unable open. The only way i found to close it proper was with it completely empty, laying against a flat table.Needless to say i'm very disappointed to have spent 51 pounds on this! I used to be a great fan of Camelbak, but after this unpleasant experience, i'll give the other cheaper options a go...

Closure thread is not reliable
Great except for one key feature, the lid is really diffult to close properly. It cross threads at the slightest provocation. Far worse than the previous generation which I had for 10years. Similar issues seen elsewhere. Its ok if you can spare 5 minutes every time you need to close it...

Leaks like a sieve
I've used Camelbaks for many, many years now and found them excellent. The new 3litre unit is a complete POS. It takes several attempts to get the filler cap to seat correctly, otherwise it leaks badly. Whoever designed the new moulding has made a pig's ear of it.It's really disappointing that Camelbak have let this rubbish out into the market.

It's my new favorite!
I must admit, I've only had experience with two camels previously, so I might not be the authority on the subject but this did everything I expected it to do with only one slight hiccup, imo. That little hiccup is that the insulated line (purchased separately) didn't keep the water as cold as I had hoped. With that said, it is very nitpicky, but it's literally the only thing I can complain about.Take a literal minute and watch a YouTube video of how to seal the top. I thought I had a clue but despite my best efforts, I failed. After watching the video it sealed perfectly and didn't leak a single drop.We hiked for four and a half hours in scorching CR heat and the water in the reservoir was ice cold the entire time. The 2 liter capacity was awesome, I came back with about half of my water. Again, still very cold. No ice was left but the water was cold!

Can't get rid of the rubbery smell or taste of the bladder. Unusable.
While it is beautifully designed and would be perfect as a water reservoir in my glider, the obnoxious smell and taste that permeates the water from the bladder, makes it unusable.I washed multiple times then alternatively left plain water, then soapy water overnight, to absorb it. I repeated, day after day after day. Still smelly. Then I tried cranberry juice, soaked for 24 hours hoping to get rid of it. No luck. The water still taste of bladder and leaves a weird feeling on my tongue and in my throat.Perhaps another case of designers getting too fancy and overlooking the obvious - using a bladder that doesn't smell or leave the water tasting funny.A real shame. I really wanted this, needed it, and was so looking forward to it making my flights easier.

Super Weiterentwicklung!
Klare Weiterempfehlung!
