12v Water Pump Cassette Comet Thetford 8 Litre Caravan Motorhome

Bought this to replace a Thetford pump that continually froze and meant I had to dismantle the toilet to free it. Fiddly to connect to the existing switch but the pump itself worked first time and provided a higher water flow than the original Thetford one. At 1/3 of the price it was definitely worth trying. Time will tell if it lasts the 14 years the Thetford one did.

Good part, does the job

This pump was a direct replacement for the pump in my Thetford C262CWE cassette toilet, in that it looks identical, has the same wire core diameter to carry the same electrical current, and has almost exactly the same flex diameter which is a snug fit through the sealing grommet. It was relatively easy to fit, and the flex was long enough so that I could cut and join to the original flex outside of the water tank.I soldered the wire joints, and used a small piece of self amalgamating tape to insulate and seal the wires from moisture. Direct connection to the battery resulted in a powerful flow of flushing water, and subsequent reconnection to the switch board gave almost as good flow after I had wiggled the connection to the cassette sensor at the back of the cassette chamber. Very pleased with this pump. I will be ordering another to keep with me as a spare.

The pump is as described and looks to be of good quality. I have yet to fit it in my caravan so can't say how it is in use. I have tested it and it does work! Ordering and delivery was seamless and efficient.

Does the job and fits .

There was no bracket to hold the pump in place which made the fitting difficult. The pump its self was good.
