This is the very first laser engraver I have owned and it became a new hobby for me right away. I was very impressed with the quality of the laser engraver, well built and great materials. They labeled all parts with detail so assembled it together with no effort at all plus they have video to checking in if needed. The instructions are really detailed and easy to follow. The machine is very steady after assembly. They even included free software in the cf card so you can start doing projects right out of the box. The price is very reasonable for the product and the final projects came out of it are above par. Great buy!

The media could not be loaded. I'm quite impressed by this laser engraver by Longer.It does require assembly, and they went above and beyond with their packaging. To make assembly easier, each ziploc bag was labeled with which step it would be used in, making it was very clear where I could just have the parts I needed for each step and not have everything laying around.They also provide a USB with software to control the engraver. One is open-source (free) and another is a free-trial.I tried the free software and it took some figuring out, but that's not a reflection on the engraver itself.When I first tried engraving the phrase "Merry Christmas," I had power on 100% and it cut through the sample wood that they provide, which I realized a little late. I initially had it cut 3 lines every 1mm, so you can see that the laser seems very accurate in that it even left a hair's width of wood where it burned through.Once I figured out how to lower the power in the software--about half-way through the bottom word, i.e. "Christmas"--it engraved the rest beautifully!Longer includes goggles to protect your eyes and sample wood to test it out, and literally everything to get you started safely.Overall, I'm very impressed with how sturdy it feels after assembly, and the quality of the laser engraver!

Just started using the product but wanted to provide some feedbacks for whoever’s interested. The device came in well-protected and included everything needed for installation. It took me less than an hour to put it up with the instruction provided. It’s pretty straight forward and not hard at all. The challenging part is software installation and since I’m using a MacBook I need to have separate driver installed in order to make successful connection to the laser machine. Then I did spend some time learning how to use the software but believe me you can’t skip this no matter what laser engraver you’re getting. The machine worked well on wood and leather that I’ve tested, I’m still testing more materials and designs - the testing feature really helped me to save time and cost but get to know the result fast. Overall, it’s worth the money that I’ve spent. Happy with it now but looking to upgrade in the future if needed.

The amount of power that lead you to believe this laser has is nonexistent. It will do some of the things that says it will do as far as materials that it will cut through. Yes, it will cut through however it will not cut through the thickness nor do it in a Manner that is going to be beneficial. Before you are able to get any real use out of it you will need to replace the laser head. I do not recommend purchasing this particular item.

I couldn’t be happier with this laser engraver !From the ease of set up to the precision it provides ,it’s exceed all my expectations.The software is intuitive , even for beginners,and allows for incredibly detailed designs.The engraver works flawlessly on various materials w-wood ,acrylic,metal-each project comes out looking professional and crisp.Its also very efficient and doesn’t require a lot of maintenance,which makes it ideal for daily use .Highly recommend this laser engraver for anyone looking to elevate their craftsmanship!!It is really really good for the price !

The media could not be loaded. I've been wanting to get an engraver for a while now, and after looking around a bit the Ray 5 seemed like the perfect machine to test the waters with. Shipped quickly and was well packaged. Instructions were easy to follow, and setup was a breeze (took about an hour or two). After getting everything squared up it's been super easy to use!Have been playing with it for about two weeks now, and I have to say I'm sorry i didn't get it sooner! So far I've printed out enough Christmas presents for everybody on my list, and then some!To reiterate the safety warnings that these things come with, make sure you put this in a well ventilated area. The smoke byproducts these machines create can make you sick if you breathe it in long enough, and make sure you wear the tinted safety glasses that comes with it (never look at a laser directly, it can permanently damage your eyes).

Easy to setup, just a few screws, and then plug and play, sd card comes with software, package comes with protection glass, and three basswood pieces for testing, when using it, need place in a good vent area, I plan to buy a shop vent fan.
