Not well designed and a little flimsy

Overall a great cage and good price 👍
What a great upgrade for my green cheek Zappa. He loves it! He's been living in a generic pet store cage for too long it was made of wire, a pain to clean with a flimsy plastic base and it cost me 110 a few years ago. I hated it! Build quality on this is great. Bars! Not wires! A really cool metal style finish that must be powder coating. The built in seed catcher works great as long as he eats near his bowl, otherwise hit or miss, but way better than nothing. 👍 It rolls around easy and I think it looks awesome. Directions could throw some people a curve. But the parts are self explanatory. All in all, happy bird makes happy me. 👍

Nightmare to put together
Both of the waste collection trays are bent, one badly enough it almost won't slide in. I'm going to attempt to fix the worst of the 2. Coming out of the box, the side walls seemed so flimsy, I thought I would be returning it, however, once they were finally in place, they're adequate. Now, getting everything into place.... YIKES .... the instructions are useless. I decided to lay the pieces out in an order that resembled a cage then figure it out myself. The design was pretty clear, but managing it myself was impossible. I tried, but in the end had to wait for help. There were 2 of us, wishing we had a 3rd to hold together 3 teetering pieces. Once the 4th wall was in, it was a much easier 2 person project. The cage does NOT measure 61". It's 58" at best, measuring from the bottom of the wheels to the top. I will take the blame for thinking the advertised measurement was the birds living space. It is adequate for a single Caique, although I was expecting something larger. The feed dishes are deeper and of better quality than the last cage I purchased. The door closes and latches as it should and the perches all fit without falling. All 3 are improvements over my previous purchase. I'll keep this cage.

Purchased to separate 2 birds - Great for a Quacker/Lovebird/ or Tiel
Originally my quaker parrot and blue crowned conure were a bonded pair. But due to my mother-in-law having to move in, and bring her Quaker parrot with her, the quaker began showing bonded aggression toward the Blue Crowned. This was no fault of the birds, but ours, by introducing a new family member both human and bird. Sometimes this happens--out of jealousy or stress. They began to fight constantly all day. The quaker turned vicious and I began to seriously worry about nipped toes and very bad wounds due to the quaker biting.I made a hard decision to purchase another cage to home the quaker separate, but beside the Blue crowned and needed a new cage in a pinch that I could afford (the original cage we housed them in was over $300 and I love my birds, but I am in so much debt up to my eyeballs I couldn't get another one at this price.)I ordered this for the price point, but am glad I did. It's a very tall cage with plenty of room for the quaker to spread his wings and climb all around. It also has a great play area on the top. It arrived in great condition, no dings or dents. The ONLY issue I have with this is that the food and water bowls are held in the cage not with a solid piece of metal, but a removable one that is sort of shaped like a square bracket, and that makes the water bowl tilt downward a little bit, making it impossible to fill it entirely. The instructions were a little vague, but if you have experience with bird cages, or putting together anything it eventually works out. We ended up with some extra screws too.RECOMMEND? Yes--especially if you are on a budget/part time or experiencing financial difficulties.

It's ok.
It seems to be a fair purchase for the money. It IS NOT wrought iron. A number of vendors say this for this product. It is bar and wire stock, machine welded together. To cover this is a decent powder coat paint. I would not subject this to external weather conditions if you want long term life of the metal. For birds, IMO, anything larger than a Timneh gray might be too much for the wire integrity. These wire bars that make up the majority of the containment are very easily bendable. This vendor mentions putting a Macaw in this environment; 1-livable space too confined for this sized bird and 2-a macaw could deal with these bars as easily as humans with paper clips: bend them at will. This is not a CalCage. That business is sorely missed. Packaging refers to the product as PET REPUBLIC Model 61.For smaller birds this will be fine. Need a handful more of perches and some wheel locks could be useful but that does not seem common for cages in general. It is an inexpensive option. Durability: short term. Keep your expectations in check.Update - A very strong negative issue is that the food dishes of the top perch sticks are below where our bird sits. We were constantly having to dump any food and wash the bowls. Additionally, the height level difference of perch to bowls made it difficult for our bird to reach. Plan for something else, possibly a different perch entirely, some form of DYI creation. Also, the wire ladder from the top of the cage to the top perch has a gauge thickness that our gray could not manage as it was too small to hold on to. Appeared to be painful. We bought and cut to size a wooden ladder from a local pet store. Another DYI solution. Not enough horizontal cross bars of the cage itself; the structure of the bars are aligned vertically, not uncommon. Our gray had difficulty navigating around the cage as he was sliding down from wherever he started from traveling horizontally. Nothing to stop his downward slide.Possibly painful for a bird with sore feet.
