Q: Are the repellent chemicals in the candle or the diffuser?

The chemicals are in the top of the diffuser separate from the candle. The candle is just a basic candle. The heat from the candle rises into the repellant pad which then releases chemicals.

Q: How do i buy just the mosquito repellent pads? i already have the lamp and candles. the pads are quickly used up. it is an excellent product.

I’m confused by the answers. I too need repellent pads because I bought some discounted refills with pads that didn’t work. I now have a number of candles but no functioning pads. Can we get an answer from off itself?

Q: Does the diffuser have a shelf life if not used for a long time?

A product can be used with confidence when its container is stored in a manner consistent with the label, and out of extreme heat or cold.

Q: What exactly comes in the refill? Is it just the candle or also the filter thing at the top the I assume has the product that repels the mosquitos?

Each refill contains one candle and one insert for the top that contains the repellent. I tried getting by with using a tea candle and extending the life of the repellent insert but it doesn't work very well. The candle and repellent insert lasts for at least 6 hours and they go hand in hand. I think every refill that I have purchased comes in a pair - 2 candles and 2 inserts. These are the most effective mosquito deterrents that I have ever purchased. Use them in all setting in MN and FL and they are amazing. Might take up to 4 at a time if you have a larger area.
