Room goes boom boom!
The live sets with the band have a great bass response. Both the kick and the bass are going through the subwoofer. I just send a monitor 2 to it and it works really well!

Can't use with 18s
I bought these to add a little extra BUMP to our system. We currently have two Mackie 18s. We ran these out of the 18s and these things could not keep up. I tried the different EQs and settings and trying to turn down the signal but the peak light was strobing red every time our drummer hit the kick. I know the specs are different between the two subs but I figured I'd be able to dial the 15s down but I guess not. I've tried it 3 shows now and have had the same issue. The last show we just shut the 15s off. I was hoping this would workout since the 15s are lighter and easier to haul than the 18s but no dice. Also, there is a SLIGHT difference when we use these with the THUMP 15s. The THUMP 15 sends out decent "thump" when its by itself. These do add more when we use them but for the money I don't think they add that much. Hindsight, I should have just bought another pair of 18s I guess. I give them a three because the issue running them with the 18s and the fact that I was expecting more when I ran them by themselves. If you are looking for a significant bass presence I would go with the 18s.

Great sub!!
As a mobile DJ I was looking for a little low end to help make my sound be more rounded. I used this a an outdoor party and my sound never sounded better. This is definitely a great sub for the price. Nothing like Mackie quality.

Any Mackie product gets at least 2 stars
I am severely let down. I recently purchased this Thump 115s to replace a mackie SRS1500 that I have had for nearly 20 years. Compare the specs! The SRS1500 had 600 watts of power, the 115s has 1400 watts of power. Much higher decibel output rating. Frequency response is a broader range, there's just one problem: the old SRS1500 SHOOK THE HOUSE! This new one (run on the same stereo system) is half the speaker the old SRS1500. I LITERALLY used to knock pictures OFF the wall. Now I have a descent sounding system. Using a bass-test track there are actually half of the frequencies that you can't even hear and it supposedly has an even lower Frequency response range than the SRS1500. How is this possible? I have tried every available Frequency response I can find and the SRS1500 did amazing. Some frequencies were louder than others, but you could hear it. This new Thump 115s with more than twice the power, is a major disappointment to me. I will keep it, because it completes a home stereo just fine, and had I not enjoyed the old one for 20 years, I would have been happy with this new 115s.
