BRILLIANT! Exciting, clever, funny, interesting, a MUST have for a smart young child!
One of the best book we've ever had (and we have a lot as read 5-10 books with my little daughter EVERY evening!). At the moment I struggle to find good books for my nearly 4 year old daughter as she is very smart and already read so many since she was little, so most of the books for her age are now too basic, yet the ones for the next age group up are often too complicated or too long. THIS book is PERFECT for a smart young child, it's exciting, it's interesting, it's full of ideas, it's funny and memorable and teaches the child so many things! And I think it will still be just as exciting in a year or even two. A BRILLIANT buy, a wonderful investment into your child's library!

Lovely book.
Funny story with nice rhymes, perfect for reading aloud. The illustrations are good too and any child who enjoys building will appreciate this story. It is American and you may need to explain some of the words e.g. diaper but to be honest most children who watch cartoons on TV will probably be familiar with the language. Would recommend.

I loved this book and so did my 5 and 3 ...
I loved this book and so did my 5 and 3 year old daughters. I have since bought another 3 to give as gifts. The illustration is sublime, so much detail, so quirky and joyful. I liked Rosie Revere and Madame Chapeau too.

Lots of mileage
There's so much in this book that you can appreciate and draw out. Simple, fun story; detailed drawings; buildings and architecture; rhyming. It is a bit American at times and I'd probably not give it 5 stars. But it wasn't for me! Bought it for a friend's daughter, who loved it. Now her little brother (3) is insisting on having it every night. Definitely recommended.

Great book - our grandson loves it.
A really amusing book, with plenty to discuss in it when reading to a 5-year-old. My only reservation is that it is an American book, so some words are different (e.g. 'diaper' for 'nappy'). At first I found this a nuisance as I 'translated', but then I realised explaining the difference between American English and British English was something that our grandson found interesting, and could understand - so it was all right in the end.

"That brilliant young man, Iggy Peck"
We first got hooked on this series with Rosie Revere - Engineer and Iggy Peck Architect doesn't disappoint. My son was 5 years old when I bought these books and we've read them regularly, talked about the stories in detail and been inspired to build as a result. Some of the dialect in all of these books is of course American, but doesn't detract from the stories at all. I love the idea that Iggy doesn't just build using conventional toys and materials and there's an important moral to the story too.
