Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra (DVD)

Brilliant Movie based on The Classic Comic Books

Finally found this movie with the actual English dub not just subtitles! Great movie super fun to watch

it's ok

Quite a funny film. A challenge is issued to build a palace within a short space of time and, of course, until Asterix and Obelix become involved with their magic potion to give super powers, there is no real progress. Definitely a film which younger family members can enjoy. We would rather see Depardieu in his more serious roles, but it was still fun to watch. (We used the well-written English subtitles with the French sound track and it was good to compare the differences, especially between the original French names and the ones used in the English subtitles!)

It doesn’t work in the UK, waste of money

Watched this as the French version with English subtitles (French subtitles not available). A well executed production that was enjoyable to watch. It might not have had me laughing out loud but it did have me breaking out in smiles. I haven't watched the English language audio version so can't comment on how well it gets across the gags and wordplays as the French does but I would think it would still be amusing for all ages. Recommended.

Simplistic, Stupid, Daft, Wooden acting and actually a Riot, a hoot and bloody hilarious..!!If you want a dumb film and a laugh, this is it.. Suspend belief, a French take on the Carry On movie..

Credible live rendition of the story when it follows close to the original comic book. The elements added such as the flirting between Asterix and an attendant of Cleopatra or the ad lib of the scribe are boring and quite a blemish on the final product.
