Great mic set, great price & superb service! Get some!!!
I'd previously bought a number of mic and guitar leads from Dangleberry (great name!), so I know these guys sell great quality gear at reasonable prices. Needed a set of drum mics for recording as the old set were moving to live gig duties, so I gave this set a try.First thing to note is that this set comes with a set of 3m xlr cables - that was a tad short for my setup, so I contacted Dangleberry and they could not have been more helpful arranging the upgrade to longer leads - top service! The mics arrived nicely packaged in a dedicated case - 7 mic set with drum shell clips for the kick and four Tom/snare mics and dedicated clips for the two overhead pencil condenser mics. I was very impressed for the quality of the mics - all are metal construction and look good quality. The clips are the clamp on variety rather than the clip on type - they work great and look pretty robust. I had one issue here that one of the clamps had a base screw missing - again outstanding service from Scott at Dangleberry who sent out a replacement clip right away! Could not ask for more!Hooked up to the recording interface, everything worked as it should. The tone of the signal in is pretty neutral and fine for recording or live use - the shell mics seem to be more directional than the last set I used, so less bleed from the other shells makes gating straightforward. The condensers for overhead (note you will need phantom power for these two as with most condensers!) sound nice and open and are a bit less directional - just what you want really. Planning to try these out for other applications too such as recording acoustic guitar - I think they will work well for that to add a bit more air to my current ribbon / large condenser setup. All said and done - this is a really good set of drum mics, with all the gubbins you need to mic up your kit - just add two mic stands for your overheads and maybe a low boom stand for the kick.... and you will have a great set-up. I really don't think you can get anything close to this quality for the money - I've used much more expensive sets than this before, and I can honestly say - these do the job just as well! If you need a set for home studio or live use - these are great! Finally - thanks to Scott & the team at Dangleberry - first class service and support on their products, and they know their stuff too. Highly recommended seller who really stand behind their products and go the extra mile to give great customer service: and I will be buying from them again!

Just..... Simply brilliant!
These are brilliant mics, bought them for home recording, and eventually gigging, all metal construction, feel very well made, clips and mic stand attchments of good quality, case is plastic but sturdy, and with all the cables too, even though they are short, they too are of a high quality, great set up, there is no hiss when recording, but i use pop shields on all the mics, brilliant quality for the money!!!!

Great drum mics
Great value....but more surprising is the sound quality. I am using to record our new album (Unit Of Inheritance). My only pick up is the rim clamps are very hit or miss on whether there is enough metal to clamp onto. In my case they hold...but not ideal. I wouldn't trust these clamps live....well if my life depended on it🙏...but you can buy replacement jaw type clamps fairly cheaply if these don't work for you. But all in all...I can't fault these fantastic quality built mics. I do use a stagg SDM70...(shure SM57 alternative 🤘) on the snare top ....and I use a T Bone BD 300 (as an alternative to a Behringer C112 👀🙏) in the Bass drum.... Both great affordable alternatives. I use the bass drum mic issued in this Nordell kit for the floor Tom....(great sound🤘). The overheads are sweet and clear. This package will save £1000s in studio fees. And you can use these live....I have a USB Presonus AR16C Studiolive 16 track (Digital or Analog mixer) ....Works with USB 2.0. (You do need Windows 10....which is free to update from say 8.1.... Just search how to do it )👀. So 4 out of 5......based on the clamps alone. If you are like me a forever optimistic person.....take the leap of faith and det a set. Trust me they really are tough great sounding mics. 👌

Excellent mics from a great supplier.
Really good microphones and excellent service from the Dangleberry folks.I'm using these mics for recording and with some experimenting of mic placement and generally top end boost, bottom end reduced eq, I'm getting a very good sound. One thing I did do was to use another mic (SM 57) for the top snare mic and used the mic from the set as an underside mic. Just personal preference really.Overall they are exceptional value mics and with Dangleberry you've got great support if needed.

Good Price Point
pleasantly surprised with the performance of these drum mics, initially purchased for youth band projectSo price played a major part when selecting this product,But they performed very well and were robust enough to withstand the environment while delivering consistent sound quality.

Hi Mark,Just a wee follow up on the purchase of this mic set. The order came through prompt and well packed, very well packed as it's designed to put up with the rough handling of transit and gigs. Yes, I managed to break one of the mic clips where the bracket snaps onto the rim of the drum but that's down to me being heavy handed. I thought it a good idea to 'work it loose' by bending it a few times, 'DON'T DO IT' it's not necessary, it's a snug fit and it has to be. Not the fault of the product but mine! Sound is great for a product sensibly priced. I thoroughly recommend it. Just one thing Mark for all the drummers out there that might be as ignorant as myself make sure that the mixer you buy has at least seven XLR sockets. If you buy a cheaper one with less XLR's then you will have to use the 1/4" jacks and they would require in line pre-amps. So, hands up I've bought the wrong mixer but certainly not the wrong mic set. I've just set up a drum room and so have bought lots of shiny new toys for it and I must say that none of the other sellers have had the concern for the customer that you have shown me. Very personable service and you do your company proud. Jim Steele
