The first one I got was faulty and I bought a replacement. This one was very hot! when used with a wax stick it gives he flat smooth look.

I tried to love it. It does get hot, but I think a regular flat iron straightens better. I do have coarse thick African American 4c natural hair and it doesn’t get as straight as I would like it to. I do pass through it a few times, but I find myself feeling like it’s just not doing the job. I do place it on the highest heat, but just not doing it for me. I would like to add that I have had it for a few months and it’s sitting in my cabinet now. I have realized that I just prefer to use the old school stove hot comb. (Like the original one your grandma and mama use to use lol). I guess I’ll just purchase the marcel stove for portability because these plug in hot combs just aren’t doing do it for me.

I’m not a stylist by any means. It works enough for me. The only this I don’t like is the buttons are right where you would hold it comfortably. I’m constantly turning it off on accident because of that

The protective guard on the one I got wouldn't stay on causing burns. If you could keep it on, it was really hot itself. Like my hot brush better. Using to straighten a beard.
