Tintin In India, Nepal And Tibet
Reading Tintin after many years is kinda nostalgic. In my teens I was and still I am a big fan of Tintin. I still collect and read Tintin with same great enjoyment. And this 'Tintin In Tibet' is mine and surely everyone's most favorite. Tintin comics are adventurous, mysterious, funny and exploring different places and cultures. This one is about friendship and a bit sentimental. It is also about Yeti, the Abominal Snowman. The myth about Yeti in the Central Asia can be compared to Big Foot in the States, Nessie in the Scotland and UFOs around the world.Herge always did research to some extent about the subjects, places and cultures before writing his another book of Tintin. In this one, it is pleasure to find Indian culture, Indian citiies and the bull in Indian street with which Captain Haddock has fun when they arrive in Delhi. It is also pleasure to see Tibetan culture and monks when they arrive in Tibet in search of the missing friend. Still there is some, not mistake I'd say, but confusion here. The plane that crashed in Goshain Than, the mountainous range in Nepal, is flying from Patna, India to Kathmadu, the capital of Nepal. Nepal lies between Tibet (China) in north and India in south, east and west. The north side of Nepal and the south of Tibet are covered with snowy high mountains or the Himalayas. There it showed a little bit of culture of Nepal where Captain Haddock eats dried chilli thinking it was fruit. This you get to see around the streets of Kathmandu. The costume worn by kids, porters and people and the architectures are also what you get to see around there. And so far as I'm concerned, Sherpas like Tharkey are the local Nepalese guides for the mountain expedition.Nepalese (Nepali), the national language, is spoken all around Nepal. When Captain Haddock collides with the porter, he shouts back at him in Indian language (Hindi). Nepali and Hindi share similar phonetics and alphabets as both languages are descended from Sanskrit, the ancient language. Although Hindi is understood there, it is not spoken in daily life. Herge later admitted it as an error.Never mind ! Tintin is always the greatest fun to read.

If I could give it 10 stars I would!!
Brilliant.Truthfully, this is the best Tin Tin book I have read. A touching and riveting read, it has everything you would want from a Tin Tin adventure, but takes it to the next level by making it so much more personal to our young hero. The story and art work are beautiful.I won't go over old ground by reviewing it verbatim, but will simply say that I cannot recommend this Tin Tin adventure enough and would urge anyone who hasn't read it yet to make it the next one on their list - you won't regret it.Herge, I salute you.5 Stars (at least).

Classic.
This has to be my all time favourite Tintin book in a long list of great Tintin books. Some might disregard Tintin as mere comic books but the story line is as good as any 'serious' hardback novel with it's story of friendship, loyalty and sacrificial love for one's fellow being whether human or otherwise.I might be 60 now but I remember reading these as a young boy, the oldest now in my possession, The Calculus Affair, cost me the princely sum of 35p but unfortunately is no longer in great shape but I will never get rid of it.

As a child, I remember going to the library ...
As a child, I remember going to the library and checking out the Tintin books and being drawn into the adventure, wishing I could be Tintin. Now in my late 20's, I have decided to purchase all the Tintin books so that when my 2 year old is a bit older, I can share the world of Tintin with him :-D

Just right for 11 year old grandson
Super -G'son is enjoying working his way through the Tintin series and, of course, my husband just has to read through them first 'just to check that they're suitable'!

As it should be, a little less so though
I had my first TinTin comic some 45 years ago, I still have some of the original ones. I have ordered this just to refresh my memory with those lovely stories that I enjoyed. The book looks as it should be in genera terms except for the fact that it is soft binding, yet I think the print is not as sharp as it used to be. The book seems to be printed out of a photo rather than the original films.

Beautiful artwork, exciting story
An undying classic. Beautiful artwork, exciting story, great comical moments. I discovered Tintin through this book when I was about 5 or 6, and now my 5-year-old loves this book too. Recommended for young and old.

Un clásico que debes tener
Quñe se puede decir de Tintin, la historia genial. El formato es grande, algo así como doble carta y con hojas plastificadas.
