Fantastic addition to the Hue family - warning though, highly addictive!
I have to admit I am hooked on Philips Hue. I purchased the starter set of three bulbs and a bridge from Amazon some time back (keep an eye out for the Lightning deals) and loved the effect. You can have normal white light for when you want it then subtle shades to complement your decor and, for appropriate times, go for it with an app such as Hue Disco for the full effect.Once I purchased the starter kit the addiction set in. First though was that now we have colour changing lights it would be good to get rid of the magnolia walls and change to matt white. OK - 2-months of decorating later and I had smooth, white walls which benefited the Hue lights. Of course 3 was never going to be enough so more changes with matching upright floor lamps and an enclosed, globe type, ceiling light. Not to stop there - perhaps a few Hue Blooms and Iris's would go well and off you go, more and more!I do like the system though - add a Hue Tap for the rest of the family to use and you have a great system that is also designed to last for years with low energy LED too. When the Hue Go came out I thought I would give it a try to light up a dark corner and it does exactly that. Plugs in and links to your Bridge without fuss and provides a nice, subtle, light. Of course the key benefit with the Go is the fact that when you need it to be portable (summer evenings with a BBQ perhaps) then you unplug it and it is always ready with charge so you can use outside. Even if you don't have the Hue Bridge you can still press the single button in succession for different colours and brightness.I have added this to my wish list for further Lightning deals and will surely buy more when appropriate. Overall, highly recommended.

I was surprised how good it was
I've become more than a bit addicted to my Phillips Hue setup and had held off on buying a 'GO' for a while. It seemed a bit overpriced for what it appeared to be and I thought I'd be better off with the lamps, iris and lightstrips. However I finally took the plunge and bought one of these - I wish I had gotten it sooner! This is probably my favourite of the bunch.First impressions were that it was smaller than I thought it'd be and was worried that the brightness when not charging would be disappointing. However waiting until it got dark and adding this to the mix - I couldn't believe how bright it was! On full brightness it's almost too much but it's impressive glow is noticeable whether it's bright or dull. It produces all of the colour wheel pretty nicely and can be orientated to face upwards or at an angle to accent a surface. Carrying it around is easy and it becomes so flexible - put it on the coffee table, put it on the bedside table, the kitchen.. take it to the bathroom! It just fits every job - I almost wish I had about 4 of them! The only downside is the battery life. The box claims 3 hours on a full charge but I feel I've gotten a bit under this. Either way it's disappointing when the battery dies and it needs to be charged again. It's not a big enough problem to dissuade anyone from purchasing, but is the main limitation of this light. That said it still works perfectly fine when plugged in, so it really just depends on how you use it.

Best ambient lighting solution by Philips
It's probably the best ambient lighting solution by Philips I can see. It's brighter than a Philips Bloom, diffuses light gently under the light, and has a battery making this thing portable! Arguably, the design is either better or worse. Other than that, it sits behind my two monitors and creates a nice backlight up the wall and ceiling for long computer use sessions and gaming. Helps with the eye strain. It also makes my room in particular look more cozy, as this works alongside my lamp to deliver a nice, warm evening light. My parents use this downstairs and have it tucked next to the sofa to also create a nice ambient light. The product features one button which the Bloom doesn't have which allows you to control it without the app. While yes, the app will unlock more features and functions of this light, this light doesn't make it feel like the app is a necessity. It comes pre-loaded with custom lighting presets, and can colourloop. You can even use the button to stop the colourloop on a specific colour you like.It also comes with a charger cable which can keep the light on indefinitely. This is if you wish to use it as some sort of permanent lighting solution like me. :)

Almost Perfect, But still worth getting
The media could not be loaded. Firstly I absolutely love the Hue Go its by far the best light in the Hue range in my opinion. The main benefits are its total flexibility, no wires and go anywhere, it is great for patio / outdoor lighting at a table and also perfect in a room. The ability to change colours adds to its features. I use this lamp all the time in my video making as I can light anything from any direction. The only negative, and its not really a negative is battery life. My experience is that you get around 2 hours which is normally fine for most occasions, but I would like more. This is really a 4.5 out of 5. Check out the video for more.
