Tungsol 12AT7 6201 Pre-amp Tube

This tube I installed on a MXL v69 to see what difference it made and it totally changed this mics performance. Rounded out bottoms and tamed highs. I find it great for vocals and bass instruments with this tube installed. Before the change the Mic was to shrill and no real definition below 100hz. This tube made the mic better. Note: I burned in the tube for 30+ hrs before recording use. Left it on and walked away for a day and a half. Works like a champ and it’s one my go to’s at the moment. It fits me and my situation perfectly (room/gear/style of music I record) Buy this tube with confidence!

Swapped an AX7 with this AT7 and immediately could hear the difference in the clean settings on my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. Got a little more wiggle room in the volume before it starts to break up.

Great for my amp. Low noise and does the job it is assigned to. Wont' go much into the harmonics, break up and color as this is subjective to each person. Will recommend these as they are very reasonable priced and this helped my trouble shoot an issue I was having with my amp.

These sound really good and they help with having a little more bass.

I tried several other brands and they were microphonic. This one works fine in socket 1 to tame a blues deluxe tweed to the same specs as the George Benson model..
