Love this I use it as an entry bench and store all the grand children toys in it assembly was easy

It took us a while to put this together due to the instructions on the second page. It was not made clear whether to put the ends on first or the back piece. But now its together. I think you should make your instructions clearer. I hope you consider this constructive criticism, because we love the finished product.

I'm giving this a 2 because I am in process of returning for a replacement. I love the bench and it is sturdy (except for the inside bottom which is flimsy and would not hold a child's weight). After getting the whole thing together I realized that there were 2 spots where the finish was dull and very rough unlike the rest of the wood AND one place on the top left of the backrest had a crack which you can see. I think they have very poor quality control OR send out any mistakes hoping people will live with it vs the hard bulky return.Thanks to Amazon for coming to pick it up but it was not at all easy to get back into original packaging as required. Also very inconvenient that there is no way to contact them and can't just get replacement pieces. I will upgrade or downgrade this review depending on what they send me next but be very careful to unpack and inspect each piece since you may need to repack it to send back.Well I said I would update this so here it is. Everything I said is true. I have recieved the replacement and there were just a couple of very minor spots that were not in obvious places so I kept it and it will be fine. I would still be very careful about unpacking and inspect each piece carefully. however it is sturdy and fits well for me.

This is HEAVY and once put together, super sturdy. Some of the screws are challenging to tighten up since they're so close to the sides but the two of us were able to manage. Lots of storage inside for shoes, boots,. This is an attractive addition at my front entry.

It's well packaged, every single wood piece is wrapped properly and all packed together with surrounding buffering material to avoid any damage. So all in good shape when I opened the package.The installation can be done by a reasonable person in an hour. The manual actually made sense and easy to follow.The storage space is roomy as advertised but won't expect to hold too much weight. The seating top board is made by solid wood so it can support at least two adults sitting on it. Note, sitting only, as standing would be a little different story....The paint is dark brown, but more like dark cherry under shades, which I like a lot. Very classy with my corner office desk suites.The latch that control the storage cover is spring assisted so it won't accidentally fall when opened. It literally can stay at any angle when you open it. So you can use both hands to work on something more important instead of holding the lid.PS: the two sitting pads are not from the package but bought separately somewhere else.

We love it. We had a problem trying to finally put in the base. Then my husband had the idea to unscrew the screws on the peg. Then it was easy after that. It’s just a beauty. Very strong and deep enough to hold more than my previous bench did. So glad I bought it.
