Stop fighting with the mattress and the box spring with the dust ruffle
Create a dust ruffle and secure it to the box spring using these curly curl pins that keep the dust ruffle in place without having to arm wrestle the box spring and mattress into submission. Forget the hassle, simply attach the dust ruffle (make one that is the length from the box spring to the floor and simply attach using these curly cue pins).

Keep a dust ruffle in place.
My dust ruffle is attached to fabric that is placed over the box spring and under the mattress. I applied these screw-in pins six inches under the mattress into the box spring. I spaced the pins 8" apart around both sides and the bottom of the bed to hold the bed skirt in place. This way I don't disturb the pins when making up the bed. They are a great way to keep the dust ruffle in place. I have used smaller ones on arm rest covers in the past.

Not great for a couch
The pins are hard to spin into place, and pull out by themselves. I used to secure my couch cover to the couch, the pins keep popping out and even ripping the couch cover.

Not worth even the few dollars they cost
They're very small.... the concept is sound but the heads are thin plastic and small. Several of the heads weren't strong enough the keep the metal pin part from poking through. I tried them on several boxsprings and dust ruffles. The only things they got through without a problem was a mattress. And you can't attach a dust ruffle to a mattress because you have to change the sheets regularly. I believe I will get some upholstery tacks and hammer to do the job or a staple gun.....or purchase dust ruffles that have elastic bands.
