My daughter wanted a couple of hand-powered fans that were compact and could cool off her face when she was waiting during this extremely hot spring/summer. The reason for the 5 stars is that these fans work, and work well - just the same as if you were at a store / convention / etc. and paid $3.99 (or more.Pros:The fans all worked well and folded back together without a problem.The designs on the fans are what my daughter expected.The fans do not use batteries (or self-immolate like the $1.29 battery powered fan I bought at the Dollar Store).You get 8 and they add almost no weight to what you are carrying.If you drop one, you have extras.Cons: (and this is VERY minor and I have seen it on other, more expensive fans)There was one small part (maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch) of the bamboo blade (if this is the correct term) that was rough had potential for splinters. I am NOT taking a star off because the rough part was fingertip sanded with fine sandpaper. AND, as mentioned above, this happens (like a small loose thread on a new T-shirt) even in much more expensive fans. It is not common and easily fixed.I will reiterate, GREAT DEAL ON THESE FANS. 5 Stars.

I have bought several of these fans in different colors and quantities and have been please with each assortment from other venders on Amazon’s site.
