Works better than expected, especially with the manual adjusters for distance. We use the timer for night, but will plan on auto access for the winter.Good quality for the materials. The petsafe door looks like it came from the dollar store and this is actually energy efficient.

Are you very easy to install?

I don't even know where to start, I only tend to leave reviews when I really feel there was one that would have gave me more insight. This door is exactly what I was looking for but not exactly what it says. The build of the door itself seems very sturdy and works well. There are some minor issues with gapping and drafts but nothing to concerning. (We live in MD so we have a variety of weather. It has been fall since we had it and the only thing I have noticed is it is leakproof and seals nicely (not perfect). It is 100% as shown in the description and detailed in the installation video. It is easy to install. The mechanics and electronics of the door have some issues. We purchased the power cord for an additional charge. I did not want to chance a battery dying and the dogs being stuck in or out. The wifi is easy to set up with the door. The connection with the app is 50/50 on if it will work. I have not used a few of the other features in the app as my dogs have the collars and are allowed to go in and out as needed. I have been able to set the timer for the door to be open and it is a nice option. The door does not always connect to my app allowing me to not be able to open, close, turn on or off as needed at times. The app will not show any features or allow options when not connected so you do not know if the door is open or shut, you can not open and shut if needed. The alerts/notifications from the door to the app are also 50/50. The app allows you to know when a dog goes in or out. The collars (it comes with one and we purchased a second) work well with the door and respond as they should. You do have to purchase their batteries for replacements. The collar an transmitter are small. The collar is very thin and flimsy. My dogs are not rough with their collars so they wear them all the time along with their regular collars. The settings for the collar and the door are easy to manage and work well. There seem to be a lot of issues with the doors motor. It has never randomly opened or locked on us but it does have an issue where when the dogs go in or out, it will sometimes want to close but "catch" while closing and cause it to reopen. It will repeat this process many times and either finally close or we will have to go to the door and power it down and force it to close. I have done the hard resets, adjusted the door, changed the settings, cleaned the track, called CS and have yet been about to fix this issue. Other then those two issues, when it is working properly, it is exactly what I was looking for. Sadly, the two issues it has are BIG issues. I will be keeping the door as I'm home or close to home most of the time but if I was unable to work with the door when needed, it would not be worth it for me to keep. The door is not cheap but returning it would be on me and not cheap either. I hope this helps.

I wanted this product for a couple reasons .1. Specific entry and exit times for my dog in order to control her exposure to the outside nocturnal animals. The time frames set in the app to allow entry and or exit are not consistent. She was able to exit the house past the time I set as “no exits” past a certain time.So it’s unreliable regarding times for entry/exit.2. I wanted to only allow her into the house and no other animals (the collar sensor should make the entry/exit specific to her only. I tried to “calibrate” the collar sensor repeatedly and it too is completely unreliable. Sometimes it opens when she’s 8’ away, sometimes it doesn’t open when she’s <6” away. I attempted to turn on the setting that allows the “dog to keep the door open” but it still closed on her (very light tap, without and threat of injury) but now that the door closed and touched her, she’s too afraid to use the door without lots of persuasion. I tried for 3 weeks to train her to get used to the new door and she’s still very hesitant to use it and now it’s past the return date.I would not recommend this product. It’s an extremely expensive door dog without any consistency in its operations . If it functioned as advertised, then it would be great to have those advertised functionalities (animal specific entry/exit, set time frames for entry /exit, remote access to activate/deactivate access for emergencies) but it is very poorly executed.

I bought one of those dog doors that they had to push through. Dog didn’t want to do it. So I ordered this one instead that opens and closes. The door works great. My dog and cat go in and out all day. I purposely bought this one with Wi-Fi and app so I could see history and get notifications. That does not work. I email the support desk every day and they tell me to hard reset and install the door again. Doesn’t work at all. Even thought I check and the door is connected to Wi-Fi with all bars the app doesn’t recognize it so I can’t see history or get notifications. Also I put this on a door and then had to pay $110 for batteries. With the battery and no AC power the door connects to Wi-Fi for 5 minutes then you never get Wi-Fi again. So my handyman had to install an outlet next to the door so it could be plugged in all the time. I’m writing this review so all potential buyers know actually what the current status is. Hope they fix their app.

The media could not be loaded. I love the convenience of not having to worry about hiring a puppy sitter to let my dog out. It really does work and it works well.The downside: this sucker is LOUD! The noise levels are absolutely awful and to make matters worse unless you turn it off, my dog has the ability to go in and out as many times as she wishes 😅… which can be understandably frustrating.The weather sealant they provided was inadequate and was not keeping the heat/cold out. Went to the store to buy some additional supplies; works well now.I wish there was a way to use the existing lock of my sliding glass door with this. But they wanted me to use their lock and drill into the sliding door that comes with my house. Which is not an option, as I am a renter. So I am left with using the security bar to lock the sliding door any time I leave. Which is fine. But it is slightly annoying.

Owner is unresponsive for this company. Good customer service reps but we have not received a response from owner about the app issue. Sad because we enjoyed our door until it broke.
