I would give this 6 stars if I could. This worked amazingly well and fast. I literally removed the algae growth (and I had a lot in my outside water feature.) Be sure to treat your water every 2 weeks and your water feature stays nice and clear. Not harmful to fish or birds, so that was a plus.

Works great, Kills the algae right awayBeware that it will kill fish too,When using in a pond or fish tank I recommend only using half of the required amount and make sure that you have tons of air bubbles and water flow this stuff once it kills the algae it removes the oxygen from the water fast.I use it in both my water fountains outside year round to keep them looking like new all year. never have to clean them by hand.

This stuff works great in my turtle pond outside

My pond is 16x25 ft....more or less 8 to 10000 gallons. I put about 2 cups in on one end and 2 on the other. Three days later I hit it again. I have two waterfalls on each end that I kept running for at least 24 hours. MAKE SURE YOU AREATE! A week later my pond is now crystal clear. This stuff works but be careful. I overdosed 3 years ago and it killed all my fish but that was my fault.

Filtration and aeration is KEY! I’ve read many reviews over the concern of fish dying but people aren’t reading the instructions properly. This product requires rigorous aeration (24 Hours a day) you also need a good filtration system to remove the algae so the product can do its job. Figure out the correct dosage and treat every 3 days (I waited every 4 days) I was sure to brush my liner to stir all of the algae. the pictures are over the span of 2 weeks! Hope this helps.

I'm torn when it comes to this product. I started using Algaefix last year, and the results were truly incredible. Overnight (quite literally) my pond went from a soupy, stringy mess to see-to-the-bottom clear. So of course, I bought more of this for the 2015 season.After my first application this year, I'm wondering if they switched to a new formulation. Here's why: Our pond had a pretty heavy algae bloom this spring. The water was green and like last year, I had a lot of string algae and floating algae. I dosed the pond with the same amount of Algaefix that I used last year and like before, the water cleared up significantly overnight. However, this time around, my fish were VERY negatively affected. I have a few small koi and a few goldfish in my pond and when I checked on them the morning after treating, they were all hanging listlessly at the surface or on the floor of the pond. Those at the top weren't gasping, just hanging there. They were so sluggish that I was actually able to reach in and pick one up with the fish putting up almost no struggle! I thought for sure they would die.I have a waterfall, a spitter, and two aerators in my pond, so this was clearly not a result of having too little oxygen (something the directions warn of for this product).About three days after treating, the fish are now moving around again. I'm torn as to what to do and how to rate this product. On one hand, it does work, and it works very well. However, I'm concerned that continued use may stress or even kill my fish.If you have fish or other aquatic animals, you might consider trying something else first. If you're fighting a really bad algae infestation or don't have aquatic animals, though, this is admittedly a good product for removing algae quickly and efficiently.
