Seems weird? Yeah but that's good
First things first: This is literally a block of wood, shaped to fit nicely in a hand, with a piece of saw blade embedded in it. That's it. It isn't fancy or revolutionary tech in any way. Anyone with power tools could probably make it themselves for a 10th of the price. HOWEVER... I have two young kittens and this is the only brush they will (sometimes) not attack because they seem to like how it feels. I have 5 different kinds: a metal comb made for long-haired animals, a slicker brush, a flea comb, a silicone comb/scraper, and this one. This comb removes more hair than the other 4 by a SIGNIFICANT margin. I can use all 4 on them in succession and then use this and remove 10x the hair all the others combined.I expected the tradeoff to be that it was uncomfortable for them, but they seem to like it the best. With some proper conditioning, I think kitties can learn to love grooming sessions with this brush. Long story short, this brush sounds and feels like a waste of money, but I promise you it isn't!Tips for introduction: Get them while they are sleepy and focus on the spots they like best (the cheeks, behind the ears, the butt, etc). Then once they have a positive association with the brush, move on to other areas, offering treats if needed.

1000% recommend!!
Long review incoming TL:DR, absolutely worth it!!The other day I was a gummy in, scrolling youtube shorts (as one does), and I came across a video of a pet groomer bathing a really fiesty cat. But when it came time to brush it, the cat was so calm! The groomer made a somewhat unbelievable claim that every pet liked the equigroomer. It's possible that they were sponsored or partnered, but I decided on impulse to order one.For reference, I have a shorthair dilute tortoiseshell. She definitely has the tortitude and absolutely HATES being brushed. But it's shedding season and I'm allergic, so every time she comes up to me for love and attention, im getting absolutely showered in fur, completely murdering my sinuses.Well it just arrived today and she actually tolerates it?!? She let me brush the length of her body, the base of her tail, her neck, and then I let her sniff the equigroomer for a bit and she rubbed her face on it!! Definitely a win in my book. The shape of the wood handle is quite comfortable to hold too (as someone with fibromyalgia with hand issues similar to arthritis). I will say that it is very different than any other brush I've used. I've tried those viral cat brushes where you can push the button and the fur pops off, I've tried furminator, and also those silicone brushes. But this one is different in that the teeth are so short. The fur doesn't actually stay in the teeth as they aren't bristles, so it's a little different to use. I also found that making short strokes while pressing in firmly works the best for this, and I tested the groomer on my own skin first and it actually is a super pleasant scratching sensation (I'm not about to use a product on her without testing it on myselffirts to ensure it won't hurt).Overall, I really love this purchase and I definitely would recommend it! Also I was not paid for this review, I did not recieve the product for free, and I'm not getting anything from leaving a good review. I paid for it myself and am actually loving it and recommending it!!(Also the fur in the picture is not my cat it's a sheepskin)

Works with fine hair. Great for sensitive animals.
I don’t right reviews - ever. Although I was compelled to leave one for the Equigroomer because I have spend what feels like hundreds of dollars in brushes and de-groomers from so many different Merchants who “promised” one thing but never worked for my situation. One of my cats not only has extremely fine fur but he HATES being brushed. He immediately tries to run away and when you do encounter the rare times where he does allow it… ends up swatting at me soon enough. I have tried so many products that either didn’t work due to how fine his hair is or caused issues with his sensitive back/skin.THIS WORKS! Not only does it work but he loves it! This brush actually collects the fine hairs easily, doesn’t cause discomfort, and to him even thinks it’s a toy trying to gnaw and rub his face all over it.I can’t tell you how thankful I am to have something that actually works. If you are struggling with cats/dogs with fine hair then this is the solution for you. My only recommendation is to brush them outside or on the patio/balcony (cat) if possible. The hair doesn’t collect on the brush itself but instead leaves it where you end your brush strokes so I learned right away to move it to the balcony before the entire house was covered in hair (it worked that well)Several other brushes lasted 2 minutes before he had enough but with this one I can keep going/going. The design seems so simple but the results speak for themselves. I should have gotten this years ago. THANK YOU!

Handy, works well so far, but I’m not a groomer.
Made in USAClever use of a common blade you’ll recognize. Wooden handle. Good size for our dogs45 lb BC and 18 lb Maltese terrier. I’m not saying there’s false advertising because the dimensions are very plainly shown. However it is way smaller than Girl with the Dogs uses. Still decent size for our dogs, and made in USA!

Should be standard issue for shedding dogs upon ownership!
This little thing is crazy good! I ordered a 5 inch sized for my Aussie because I have heard it was a good tool for shedding but had my doubts since I have tried multiple other products. First of all, let me say that this should be a standard issue shedding tool that they hand you when you get a shedding dog. This this is CRAZY when it comes to taking off the excess floof AND to top it off: HE LIKES IT!! He usually runs when he sees me getting out his shedding tool box but he likes this one!! He actually lays on his back for me to brush his underfloof. This thing, just buy it and try it... CRAZY GOOD! p.s. it even works on the cats!Hair removal:A must have for Aussie Owners!
