Nice quality & comfortable
Finally a set of catchers gear for girls. Softball & baseball are kinda the same sport and yet so very very different. Especially at the jr. fastpitch level (8-15yo) because young and adolescent girls grow so much differently than boys and they need a different fit than boys. This set is really nice. Great construction and design as traditional from Rawlings. The velcro closure on the chest plate is so much easier than a clip and it is fully & quickly adjustable to size up/down between players. The shin/knee guards are fully protective and hinged in just the right areas for quick up & down range of motion and they are super lightweight. The helmet is top-notch in quality & design - by far the best helmet fit & feel I have used in my 10 years of coaching girls softball. It's face cage has a huge field of view and if fits secure and comfortable yet it is super easy to flip off for pop-flys. There are no angles or spurs in the helmet to catch hair or scratch skin. The padding is thourguro but overall it is super breathable and my players do not get overheated. I am very impressed with this set and so happy to have it vs. my old set.

Great for first time catchers
We bought this for my daughter when she wanted to play softball. She never caught before and this gear protected her when she missed the ball. The look is great and she says it’s comfortable. She’s 9 and the size fit her great. It was well worth the money because sometimes kids change their minds.

Great for young kids
Bought this set for my 8 year old since it was a priced well and seemed to be the right size and I’m glad I did. The Velcro was great so he could get the legs off and on quickly by his self and the quality was really good for the price. Definitely recommend this for 8U and younger.

Great beginner set!
We bought this set for our 7 year old catcher. It's a really great set and has good coverage. The sleeves roughed up her jersey a bit, but nothing major. Straps are velcro, so over time and the course of dust from the field, it seems to lose it's stickiness some, but still held in place. Good set for a beginner!!

Works as needed
For 10u pitches are wild. My daughter can move with ease and doesn't feel much it hit in the padding. Built durable. Fits well. For a good price.

Color and description not correct. Helmet very heavy for a kid.
Helmet is way too heavy for little kids and the colors are way different than photos. The royale blue is a lighter blue not far and the white helmet and shin pads in the photo is not what you get. It a grey color helmet and shin pads. The photo is way off. The Velcro with probably only be sticky for a month or two it’s cheap.

Great product at a great price
I bought this for my son as his first set of catcher gear. He's an average-sized 6-year-old, and it fits him perfectly. It's easy for him to get the gear on and off, and the helmet is light enough to wear correctly and comfortably. When he sizes up, I'll likely buy the L/XL.

It advertises as a double knee guard but it’s only a single.
The key reasons I bought the item was affordability, it’s a trusted brand, and it was advertised as a double knee guard. Even when you scroll to the right to review all the pictures it appears as a double knee guard. Playing as a catcher myself, I can’t stress how important it is to have a double knee guard. All it takes is getting pelted on top of the knee all season to know it should just be standard. The chest guard is a bit small for my 6 year old who is 51 inches tall. That being said, the quality looks good. It’s easy to adjust and put on and take off with the Velcro features which is key when getting a player ready between innings. The helmet allows easy visibility and it looks cool.I just feel duped that everything lead me to believe I was going to get a double knee guard.
