We have this mat outside atop a mostly sheltered step. It had a strong smell as some have mentioned when first taken from package, but don't most mats? We put it outside immediately, and there is no residual odor even when wiping feet on it, so we don't see this as an issue at all. It came rolled up, so didn't lay flat at first, but we put a little board for weight at both ends to speed along the flattening process. It was flat enough within a couple of days and did not curl up again - so once again, this is not an issue for us as some seemed to suggest it had been for them. We are quite happy with the purchase and it serves the purpose well for which it was intended. Cute mat that seems made well.

Husband loved it. Would buy again and probably get brother-in-law on for christmas.
