The midwife and nurses in the hospital delivering my baby were super impressed that I didn’t tear and all asked me what I did and that I should recommend whatever it was to all my friends, so I’m sharing this review.Asking my husband to do the perineal massage for me almost every day would be a lot, so I looked for a way I could do it myself. I used this tool with coconut oil and massaged myself 4-5 times a week, 4 weeks before I gave birth. I had to search for a few YouTube videos and use a mirror when I first started to make sure I was doing it right. But once you know how it feels, it’s super easy to do either right before bed or each morning.My baby was 2 weeks early and had an average sized head, roughly 13.5 inches.Hopefully this works for you too! Congrats on being a soon to be mama.

Not sure how to tell if this does or does not work if your goal is to avoid tearing. But the tool is easy to use and sturdy and comes with clear instructions.

The product itself is fine - but the description on amazon is misleading. It states that it is the massager AND oil but only the massager comes. To get the oil is an extra $10, which I verified on the Perimom website as well. I’m fine with the price and product, but please make it clear that this is the massager only and does not include oil.

I absolutely love this product! My skin is very sensitive, and this doesn’t bother it at all. I bought it to help with perineal massage, to prepare for labor. I used lubricants before it arrived, and they didn’t do the trick. When this arrived, my perineal massages went from painful to comfortable. I was able to successfully prepare for labor, and didn’t tear during my delivery! I’ve also used the oil as lubricant during intimacy, and it works great. It doesn’t dry out and a little goes a long way. I’ll be buying it again!

The handle is ergonomically designed for a right handed person. If you are left handed, it puts it at the wrong angle. I wish it would have said for right hand in description.

Great for when your ready

I had high hoped for this product as it was recommended to me in a birthing class.Usage felt unsafe for me- it is easy to slip in deeper with it as you dint see the marker the put on the product with your pregnant belly. This made me barely use it. Than I missed out on the relatively short return window of 1 months ?! Be aware.. And try it right away haha not like me! Last but not least for what it’s designed to do it’s terribly overpriced.

This is a great product! I have used it a couple of time but need to use it more because I am getting closer to the due date of my pregnancy. It comes with picture instructions which help so much because I had no idea how to use it when I first opened it. It also has a bag that it comes in. The only thing you will need other than what it comes with is some sort of lubricant. I use coconut oil because it is safe for internal use!
