Purchased to replace Bargman L300 latches. Good product
I purchased two to replace Bargman L300 latches on a 1989 Gore horse trailer. For my application, I had to enlarge the door cut out on the forward side about 1/2 inch wider to allow the new latch set to be inserted. This was simple to do with a Rockwell oscillating tool. The other adjustment I had to make to the trailer to work with this replacement door latch was to drill a new hole through the door below the lower latch pin to allow the use of the deadbolt. The screws in the door edge side of the new latches fit precisely with no modification and the cover plates are slightly larger than the original Bargmans, so they neatly covered everything, looks factory installed. The replacement latch came with a new door frame catch plate that swapped directly out with the original. These door latches are heavy-duty, they catch and hold the door closed more easily and securely than the original L300s I pulled out. Before receiving the latches, I thought they seemed expensive, though more affordable than attaining vintage Bargman L300's which were going for $200+ each on eBay, when I could find them. It was difficult to tell from the pictures if there may be a lot of plastic components or thin gauge metal in these replacements. Once delivered, inspected, and installed I found them to be of good quality, sturdy, well made and I think the price paid was appropriate. I am overall well pleased with the product & recommend for L300 replacement purposes.

Great fit and lock but can't lock latch from inside
After my third trimark failure in 6 years, I got this and it installed perfectly in literally 90 seconds. My trimarks needed a little or a lot of tweeking but the Bauer closes and opens perfectly first time and better than any trimark ever did. Very smooth and firm and secure and everything lines up.HOWEVER!The handle. The screen door sliding cover is in the way. Whereas the trimark inside grab handle is open, the Bauer is a sleeker design but not open on the side towards the lock so cannot be grabbed from that side. But the sliding cover of the screen door is totally in the way to be able to grab it at all. I can only pull the door shut by sticking one finger in at the top or bottom. Pretty, but dumb design. Don't most RV's have screen doors like mine? Idk. I could take my dremel and carve out a slot to grab, or bolt a extra pull handle on top of the pull handle. And I actually would BUT:From the inside YOU CANNOT LOCK THE HANDLE OR LATCH FROM THE INSIDE. FULL STOP. YOU CAN ONLY THE DEADBOLT. I have no idea why this is. There must be a reason. But,... what??!!So after some thought, it has to go back. I mean wtf?Note on trimark: their customer service is excellent. It was easy to get the right guy, he advised how to open it, and is sending a new lock. He says they fixed the problem that the old ones had - the latch is now milled instead of cast he said, but I don't think that is what failed this time. The fit and feel of the AP is great, but the design flaws of one inside lock and the handle are mind-boggling dumb. I give 2 stars because one should grade the special needs engineers on a curve

Great quality. A little modification. Closes better than before
I installed this on my 1981 Coachman 20 ' Surrey. With a little modification, it fit's and looks great. It closes MUCH smoother now. Overall, I recommend this product.I had to make two modifications:1. The new handle was a tad bit longer where the deadbolt keylock is. I used a jig saw (see photos) to notch that area.2. Drill the striker holes larger. I used a 1/2" drill bit. Ended up having to drill at an angle, from the outside, so the new handle fit in. The original handle had removable strikers, this one appeared non-removable. After drilling, it took a little pushing to get it through the holes. This kit has a dead bolt and my RV's original setup did not. In order for the deadbolt to function properly (on my RV), the entire door frame would need removing to install the new latch strike plate. The lock installed just fine without setting the dead bolt up.

Installed on 2015 Thor hurricane 34J
This product worked well although not the same foot print as the original latch. The coach decals didn't match up to latch and the interior handle is not the same so it isn't as easy access to open door, but it isn't something that really is that difficult. As far as the latches it was a direct fit.. Over all product is good quality and will work as suppose to, but not the same as original Latch.

Works like a charm
Our door latch broke on our RV at 6 am when we were outside in 30 degree weather. We had to break into the camper to get in, the door would not open from the outside. I called 2 dealers for a replacement part, neither one had it in stock. I ordered on Amazon for $30 cheaper than from the dealer and got it the next day. We got incredibly lucky, this part fit perfectly and took 20 minutes to install. Works like a charm.

Great product, but it's not an exact replacement as described.
The Bushman had a bigger opening than this AP model which makes it unusable without figuring out some form to make the mounting hole smaller. I guess you good use a bigger bead of caulking if you had too, but that wasn't for me.
