Can confirm that gigabit ethernet works fine, and also plays nice with other surge protection
I've got a UPS with ethernet, a whole-house surge protector, and 3 of these on the network, and speeds remain at 900 up and down. They did fluctuate until I swapped between IN and OUT, but it seems odd that it would not be bidirectional, so I think it was just reseating the plug. Whether they protect is not clear, hard to test, but the directions are not in Chinese or broken English, so that's encouraging.

Good for 2.5Gbps too
I can't vouch for its surge protection, but it works without causing issues. It works for 2.5Gbps too

Untested but optimistic
Haven't had any more lighting issues but not sure if this product was the solution. So far so good.

confusing instructions, but otherwise good, did not slow down internet speed
Used this to protect a direct burial, shielded CAT6 ran 200 feet to a outdoor access point. there is some confusion about which way, or which is the in or out for the ethernet cable and what side does the stuff go to be protected. I guessed that the 'IN" would be ethernet going outdoors? Got a reply from vendor, but it did not answer my question. I grounded mine with a outdoor ground rod, using some additional 16 gauge copper wire to run it outdoors. I was hesitant about using my house's ground system, since my neuteals and grounds are bonded together in house panel. I do not have seperate ground wire to the meter. i am out of NEC as of 2006 standards. Using speedtest, the speed is same as cable indoors next to router.

Isolater did not work
It was recommended by Xfinity tech to isolate modem from router, but it did not work. Internet still drops out 2-3 times per day. He said it was static charge?

Easy to install
These protect my ethernet lines without affecting gigabit speed. They are easy to install. The grounding strap hooks over a standard plug, which is especially convenient. The inclusion of a short ethernet cable is much appreciated.Of course, the bottom line is do these work to protect ethernet against lightning strikes and other surges. I don't know, and perhaps I will be fortunate enough to never find out!
