In spite of my initial concerns, the procedure turned out to be surprisingly straightforward, needing just basic instruments and a little bit of perseverance. I was able to effectively attach the gas struts in a matter of minutes, as a result of which my lids, which were before awkward, were transformed into wonders that opened effortlessly and smoothly. The heavy-duty 250N force rating of these gas struts is one of the aspects that genuinely sets them apart from other gas struts. When I have this great strength, I no longer have to worry about having to struggle with lids that are difficult to open or about the possibility of being hurt by sudden smashes. You can use the hinge on either the right or the left side; however, be sure to measure height distance as indicated in the listing to ensure these will fit. Super quality steel.

Used on my wooden deck box. The lifts make the lid super easy to open and soft close. The installation was simple. The included hardware is subpar - tiny screws for attaching. The screw to attach the arm to the pivot point stripped during install.

These are total junk. Both stopped working after only a few times raising and lowering the lid. Save yourself a few headaches, do not buy these.

Got this soft close lid hardware for my kid's toy furniture and can say it is good. This product will keep nearly any wooden lid OPENED instead of closed because its force is so high. All the wooden chests shown in the images would stay opened at all times not closed. Only use this product if you have a >50lb lid you are trying to keep closed. Which is basically no lid you would ever run into and DEFINITELY none of the lids shown in the images.

I have a big wooden chest that has a heavy lid. The grandkids are getting older and curious. The lid could have easily fallen and smashed their fingers if they'd opened it. I ordered these hinges, and they are so resistant to bending when you try to bend them by hand that my husband thought they might tear their own screws out if they were attached to the lid. Well, that is not the case! These hinges are great. They work beautifully. They do the lifting of the lid for you in a controlled, graceful manner, and hold the lid open. The lid closes in a controlled manner as well with slight resistance, so it will NEVER fall and slam shut. In fact, the lid will raise itself up slowly if it isn't shut down all the way! These are very strong hinges. I am so pleased with this purchase. The grandkids are now safe! Would include a video if my phone weren't so cheap!

I'm using these lid supports to hold open a 3' x 3' access panel on the floor, but they don't hold it open. I'm using 2 which has a stated weight capacity between 60 and 80 lbs. My access door is 42 lbs. The supports definitely help lift this heavy door, but I have to latch it when it's in the opening position. The supports look and feel like good quality.
