Nice begining set for painting minis!
I ordered the Army Painter Mega 50 Paint set on Amazon for getting back into painting fantasy/scifi/historical miniatures. On unboxing I verified I received all paint colors, washes, metal, and skin tones. Everything was included as listed in the description and on the top cover of the box. The included brush appears good, and the triangular handle is super comfortable. Set included a painting guide, catalog, and instructions regarding preparing the paints for first time use (important: must dispense/empty top medium before use) see photo. The box is nice, and the trays hold all of the paints with room to hold more in an empty tray provided. I was thinking I would need to buy a special case, box, or paint storage solution, but this box is pretty nice and I plan on using it for storing these!I had just used this brand of paints at a intro to mini painting clinic/class at my local game store. I found them to be good quality. Using thinning, wet palette, dry brushing, and layering techniques is key to these paints. They are not as fast drying or "one coat" as some other brands or product options from Army Painter, but honestly, these are very minor subjective observations. Taking the time to build up layers and patience I think is key. Would work well for quick basic paint jobs to get minis on the table as well if used that way.Set comes woth lots of colors, some washes, and metalics to get started on many minis of typical design. The metalics are nice for armor/weapons. The provided white/black and so many simular tones make blending/mixing colors for variation pretty easy. The washes I think need some thinning, but I am out of practice by some decades. This set did not come with a primer or ball bearings for mixing.I painted fantasy miniatures as a kid in the 80's back when minis were still made of lead, and only the Elder Gods know what those paints were made of. It is nice to see the new products are less toxic.I am happy with this purchase and think it is a good starter set for getting into the hobby.

Great value intro set
This is a great set for the dedicated beginner. It comes with more than enough colors for most purposes, and any missing color can be mixed using what colors there are. The brush is OK, decent enough for roughly blocking in colors on miniatures (it's not a detail brush). The Army Painter washes are fantastic and there is a good base selection included in the set. Also included is a beginner's guide to painting that is well laid out with plenty of color photographs to accompany the text.I had no problems with "split tips" like some folks report. In those cases I suspect it's how the paints were stored prior to shipping. There was some "leakage" under the caps on a few of mine, but nothing overly messy (easily wiped off with a tissue). The separation issues some others are experiencing are certainly there... but that's normal for paint that's been sitting around for some time (the solids will inevitably settle out of solution over time). A generous shaking of the bottles mixed them easily for me, with no need for "agitators".The paints go on smoothly, and 2-3 thin coats is usually good enough for even coverage (depends on the color). I use straight distilled water as a thinner and it works well with these paints. If you're looking for a solid value beginner's set, this is it. I can't recommend it enough. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

Good Value, Great Quality
You get a ton of colors, and a bunch of washed (Ive been using the AP washes for a while now and have the larger cans of them, you will definitely want to get those since the dropper bottle washes will run out quick if you are using them on all your models.) Definitely a great value versus say GW paints which cost an arm and a leg, and these paints are great on models. Buy some AP or anyone elses colored primer, use the AP paints for the details, wash, and if you feel like it, highlight afterwards. Its a simple process, fairly quick, and your models come out looking really good. I have heard of some of these sets being old and maybe dried up, I didnt have that issue. The pigment and medium separate over time, get some small ball bearings (AP sells their own now) and drop 1 or 2 in each bottle (use some pliers) so they are easy to shake up and mix before use.

With paint, you get what you pay for
I recently purchased this product as a replacement for some dried up GW pots of paint. I was initially hesitant due to the price, but after receiving the product, I can say with confidence that it is worth every penny. There is a lot to like about this paint set.1) Paints are in dropper style containers and will not dry out. Additionally, they offer greater control for dispensing precise amounts for the purpose of mixing colors.2) The set includes multiple colors of metallic and washes.3) The opacity and viscosity of the colors is on par with top quality GW paints. Even colors like yellow and orange cover completely in just one or two coats.Overall, I highly recommend this product, and I would purchase it again.
